Trustees can be voted in at a committee meeting and agree to serve and adopt all Halpin Hand policies. ## **Summary of Objectives** Halpin Hand aims to alleviate poverty by providing essential resources and support for those in need, fostering hope and building stronger communities. This involves, but not limited to, the donation of resources to local charities/organisations, the supply of clothing or school equipment, and the donation of learning materials or local training course fees. ## **Public Benefit Statement** The Trustees confirm that they have complied with the duty set out in section 4 of the Charities Act 2006, to have due regard to the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit, 'Charities and Public Benefit'. **3** ## **Summary of the Main Activities Undertaken for the Public Benefit** During the year, Halpin Hand continued to pursue its charitable objectives by providing practical support to individuals and families experiencing hardship within the community. Our activities focused on addressing immediate needs relating to food insecurity, educational access, and basic household essentials, particularly where these pressures were affecting children and vulnerable families. Over the summer holiday period, Halpin Hand supported families during a time when the absence of school meals can place additional strain on household budgets. Over a fiveweek period, we donated fresh produce and essential food items, including apples, butter, cheese, chocolate, and other groceries, to complement existing food parcels. This support helped families facing food insecurity to access nutritious and comforting food during the school break. As the new school year approached, Halpin Hand also provided direct assistance to three students returning to high school who had been referred to us as needing support. We supplied full school uniforms, including shoes and ties, together with school bags and stationery. By helping to meet these costs, the charity reduced financial barriers for families and enabled the children to return to school with confidence and dignity. During the year, the charity also responded to a referral for a family experiencing significant hardship following a particularly difficult period. In response to an urgent need, Halpin Hand provided two new beds. This assistance helped to improve the family’s home environment and wellbeing by ensuring access to safe and appropriate sleeping arrangements. In addition, Halpin Hand continued to support seasonal food provision through donations of fresh and festive items for Christmas parcels, helping families receive a more varied food offering during the holiday period. We also donated over £200 of food items to the Arfon Foodbank as part of its Advent Calendar campaign, an initiative designed to provide families with different items throughout December. Through these activities, Halpin Hand has continued to demonstrate public benefit by relieving poverty, supporting children and families in need, and working with local referral networks and food support initiatives to reach those experiencing hardship. iffln*JJ **5** ## **Summary of the Main Achievements of the Charity During the Year** During the year, Halpin Hand made a meaningful contribution to supporting families and children facing hardship in the community. Key achievements included providing fresh food and essential grocery items over five weeks during the summer holidays, supplying full school uniforms, bags, and stationery for three students returning to high school, and providing two new beds to a family in urgent need. The charity also supported Christmas food provision through donations of fresh and festive items for seasonal parcels and contributed over £200 of food items to the Arfon Foodbank’s Advent Calendar campaign. These achievements reflect Halpin Hand’s continued commitment to providing practical, targeted support that improves wellbeing, reduces hardship, and helps families maintain dignity during difficult times. ## **The Charity’s Policy on Reserves** Halpin Hand does not currently hold significant reserves, as our activities are managed by voluntary trustees and we do not intend to employ staff or make salary payments. The trustees regularly review the charity’s financial position and will establish an appropriate reserves policy as the charity grows, to ensure ongoing financial stability and the ability to meet any unforeseen expenses. ## **Details of any funds materially in deficit** Halpin Hand does not have any funds in deficit.
