Objects: The Objects Of The Charity Are: 1.to Promote The Conservation, Protection And Improvement Of The Physical And Natural Environment For The Public Benefit By The Establishment And Maintenance Of Trees, Woodland And Complementary Habitats In Such Areas Within The Electoral Area Of Sidmouth Town Council, In Agreement With Land Owners, As The Trustees Shall Determine; 2. To Advance, Through Community Engagement, The Education Of The Public Within The Electoral Area Of Sidmouth Town Council In The Improvement And Protection Of The Environment, And In The Environmental, Social And Economic Benefits Of Tree Planting, Woodland Creation And Access To Nature, In Particular Through: A. Organising Events For Public Participation Related To The Local Treescape;b. Extending Scientific Knowledge Through Conducting Biodiversity Surveys;c. Exploring Cultural Knowledge Of Trees Through Guided Walks And Other Events;d. Developing Volunteer Skills Related To Tree Care;e. Publishing Materials To Encourage Exploration Of The Local Environment And Increase Public Knowledge And Interpretation Of The Local Treescape;f. Maintaining A Website Which Locates And Informs About Significant Local Trees And Trees In General, Including Advice On Their Care. 3. To Provide Recreational And Other Facilities Within The Electoral Area Of Sidmouth Town Council To Members Of The Public At Large In The Interests Of Social Welfare With The Objects Of Improving Conditions Of Life, In Particular But Not Exclusively By Conducting Guided Walks And Publishing Interpretive Materials To Encourage People To Exercise And To Raise Awareness Of The Physical And Mental Health And Wellbeing Benefits Of Engaging With Trees, And Walking In Woodland.
