## AWDRNE Trustees’ Annual Report

Reporting Period: 7 April 2024 – 6 April 2025

## **1. Objectives and Activities**

All Wheel Drive Response North East (AWDRNE) is a volunteer-led charity providing emergency logistics support, First Aid awareness training, and event resilience services across the North East. Our aim is to improve community preparedness, access to basic lifesaving skills, and coordination during severe weather, local disruptions, or public events.

In 2024–2025, our core activities included:

- Delivering free First Aid Awareness sessions for parents, carers, students, and volunteers

- Providing First Aid cover at public events and community shows

- Supporting severe weather and community resilience projects

- Promoting inclusive volunteering and awareness in underserved communities

## **2. Public Benefit**

We have considered the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit. All our activities are open to the general public and delivered free of charge. We prioritise areas with limited access to formal training, and work with community partners to reduce barriers to participation.

## **3. Achievements and Performance**

- 25+ public sessions and events supported across Northumberland, North Tyneside, and County Durham

- Baby & Young Child First Aid, Emergency First Aid, and Everyday First Aid courses delivered in community venues

- Engagement with CitizensUK, Cedarwood Trust, and local councils to widen outreach

- Launch of the AWDRNE Safeguarding and GDPR e-learning courses for all volunteers

- Increased presence at community stalls and markets for PR, recruitment, and fundraising

- Partnership discussions begun with South Tynedale Railway and other rural networks

## **4. Financial Review**

AWDRNE maintained a stable financial position throughout the year. Income of £415.71 was generated through donations, SUMUP payments, and supporter contributions. Key expenditures included insurance, room hire, printing, and training supplies.

We operated with a small surplus of £28.17 and closed the year with a bank balance of £111.62.

## **5. Reserves Policy**

The trustees aim to maintain a minimum reserve equal to one quarter of annual operating costs to cover core expenses such as insurance and essential equipment. This target has been met for the current year.

## **6. Structure, Governance, and Management**

AWDRNE is a registered charity governed by its constitution and managed by a board of trustees. All activities are carried out by unpaid volunteers. Training and safeguarding compliance is maintained via internal systems and recognised e-learning courses.
