Afghan British Foundation Annual Report
Year: 2024
Introduction: The Afghan British Foundation (ABF) was established with a mission to support and advocate for the Afghan community in the United Kingdom while fostering cultural understanding and providing humanitarian assistance to those in need. Since our inception, we have worked tirelessly to amplify the voices of Afghan individuals, promote social cohesion, and address the unique challenges faced by our community.
Our Mission: Our mission is to provide a platform for Afghan-British collaboration, cultural preservation, and advocacy. We strive to:
-
Support vulnerable Afghan communities in the UK and abroad.
-
Advocate for the rights and recognition of Afghan minorities.
-
Preserve and celebrate Afghan culture and heritage.
-
Foster strong relationships between the Afghan community and the broader British society.
Activities and Advocacy: Throughout the year, we have engaged in various initiatives to advance our mission, including:
1. Advocacy and Outreach:
-
We submitted a formal request to the British Prime Minister's office, advocating for assistance to Afghan Hindus and other marginalized groups.
-
We have consistently engaged with community leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to highlight the urgent needs of Afghan communities.
2. Community Engagement:
-
We have organized cultural events and discussions to promote Afghan heritage and address issues faced by Afghan-British citizens.
-
We continue to provide a platform for the Afghan diaspora to connect and support one another.
Challenges Faced: Since our registration, the Afghan British Foundation has not received any external funding, grants, or financial support. Despite these financial challenges, our commitment to serving the Afghan community remains steadfast. The lack of funding limits our ability to expand our programs and provide comprehensive assistance to those in need.
Additionally, we have not received any support or assistance from the Charity Commission. This absence of institutional backing has further hindered our capacity to deliver essential services and grow our outreach initiatives. We remain hopeful that with increased
awareness and collaboration, we will be able to secure the necessary resources to continue our mission effectively.
Financial Report:
-
Income: £0 (No external funding received)
-
Expenses: Self-funded administrative and operational costs
-
Future Goals: Looking ahead, the Afghan British Foundation remains committed to:
-
Securing sustainable funding to enhance our programs and initiatives.
-
Strengthening our advocacy efforts for Afghan minorities and refugees.
-
Expanding cultural and educational initiatives to foster community pride and awareness.
-
Building partnerships with other organizations to amplify our impact.
Acknowledgements: We extend our deepest gratitude to our dedicated volunteers, supporters, and community members who have contributed their time and resources to further our cause. Your commitment is invaluable, and together, we will continue to work toward a brighter future for the Afghan community.
