**Objects:** THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT:(1) TO ADVANCE HEALTH IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY: (I) SETTING HIGH STANDARDS FOR HEALTH INFORMATION FOR THE PUBLIC AND PATIENTS TO USE; (II) PROVIDING GUIDANCE, TRAINING AND SUPPORT TO HEALTH PROFESSIONALS AND OTHERS PRODUCING HIGH QUALITY HEALTH INFORMATION; AND PROMOTING AWARENESS OF HIGH STANDARDS FOR HEALTH INFORMATION AMONG PATIENTS AND THE PUBLIC.

**Activities:** PIF is the national membership body for people working in health information and support. PIF's activities include the operation of the PIF TICK, the Quality Mark for Health Information, the development of best practice guidance in health information, the provision of accredited training and demonstration projects to ensure equitable access to health information.
