TRUSTEES REPORT
The Trustees present their report and the accounts for the year ended 31 st March
2024.
The objects of the charity are as stated previously.
The charity is governed by the Trustees who meet 6 times per year and as and
when the need arises to provide for the welfare of Wesleyan Reforni Union
Retired Ministers, and their wives.
There have been no material changes in the ath"vities of the charity.
Similarly there has been no changes in the Investment policy. which remains to
maximise the rate of retum from Investments to ensure income is available,
sufficient to m8et the objects of the charrty.
The Reserves policy of the charity is to try and maintain sufficient funds currently
held in a Building Society Account to meet the objects of the charity
The accounts have been prepared on a re￿IPtS and payments basis and are in
accordance with the provisions of the Charity (Accounts and Reports Regulations)
1996. the Statement of Recommended Practice Accounting by Charities and
applicable accounting standards.
Statement of Trustees. Responsibilities
Chartty law requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial
year. which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charty and of its
financial activities for that period, and adequately distinguish any material special
trust or other restricted fund of the charty. In preparing those financial statements
the trustees are required to..
select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently,.
b)
make judgements and estimates that a￿ reasonable and prudent,"
state whether the policleg adoptèd are in accordance with the appropriate
SORP on Accourrting by Charrties and the Accounting Regulations and
with applicable accounting standards, subject to any material departures
disclosed and explained in the financial statements-, and
d)
prepare the finanaal statements on the going concem basis unless it is
inappropriate to assume that the charity will continue in business.
The trustees are responsible for keepiThJ proper accounttng records which disclose.
with reasonable accajracy at any time. the financial posrtr'on of the chanty, and enable
them to ensure that the financial statements comply wrth applicable Accounting

Standards and Statements of Recommended Prath￿ and the regulations made
under Sectron 44 of the Chanties Act 1993. They are also responsible for
safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the
prevention and detecbon of fraud or ottw irregularrtres.
