Achievements and Performance
Church community
The infrastructure of our church community revolves around our home groups in which we do life together to bring the life of the kingdom to our families, neighbours and community. Our vision is to become a church making disciples of Jesus in multiple locations across Weardale. Our home groups operate with an emphasis on spiritual growth, building community and serving local neighbourhoods around Weardale expressing God‘s love in practical ways and building long lasting relationships in the community.
In addition to home groups, Weardale Vineyard also runs a Men’s Curry Club which has seen growth and impact in the community, building relationships and providing a place of fellowship and friendship. Similarly, ladies’ coffee mornings are a regular event in which ladies from the church and the community can build relationships and support one another in their everyday lives.
Young people
A number of members of Weardale Vineyard volunteer in running a youth club which operates bi-weekly during term time, where young people can gather in a safe, friendly and peaceful environment to socialise, play sports and games and benefit from art classes and music classes. Weardale Vineyard runs this youth club to support the community and the young people of the community, also offering summer day trips and activity days.
Volunteers,
We continue to train and release new volunteer leaders. Weardale Vineyard is indebted to the volunteers that make ministry happen and enable us to meet our charitable objectives. The various volunteers give a substantial amount of time and energy and are committed to the vision of Weardale Vineyard, and to see lives changed by the person of Jesus Christ and the power of His Kingdom.

Of the total in cash in the bank, £510 was earmarked for various Christian and charitable groups supported by Weardale Vineyard, and which are based in Ukraine. The financial position of the Charity is positive, there were no outstanding liabilities at 31[st] December 2024 and the unrestricted reserves of £18,218 (the total of £18,728 including £510 of funds earmarked for Ukraine) mean that Weardale Vineyard is in a healthy financial position going forwards.
Income- of the total income of £42,298 over the period under review includes £17,468 transferred from the Cooperative bank-account called Weardale Vineyard Community Church, but held with West Auckland Community Church prior to Weardale Vineyard being registered as a Charity in its own right (this Co-operative bank-account was closed in December 2023). The Church accounts were administered by West Auckland Community Church as part of their accounts as Weardale Church was not a Charity until 13[th] July 2023. This money came from donations to the church, all of which was paid into the new bank account set up as Weardale Vineyard CIO when Weardale Vineyard became a registered Charity. The old Co-operative bank-account with West Auckland Vineyard Church was closed in December 2023, Weardale Vineyard CIO is a charity in it’s own right, and it does not come under the umbrella of West Auckland Community Church.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31/03/2024. Responsibilities and As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the basis of report accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent Having completed my examination I confirm that no material matters have examiner's statement come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in any material respect:
-
the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or
-
the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
-
the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
