## - World Deaf Rugby Annual Report to Charity Commission 2023/24 

## Dear Charity Commission 

This is WDR Annual Report and Trustees and Members would like to thank you for the information, advice and support you gave that saw WDR set up as a CIO. You can see on our Letterhead that we are a World Wide Governing Sports Body with Members and Trustees in all five Continents. 

It was vital that we got set up as a CIO as this enabled us to get the Finance to set up WDR and grow the organisation. You will note from the Accounts submitted by the Treasurer that we have already had grants from the Barbarians Charitable Trust and also Moondance the Admiral Foundation. There are a number of Applications in train including Audiology Companies Amplifon and Specsavers. Working relationships have also been set up with World Sports Companies Gilbert and Macron to generate funds from Merchandising. 

You will note the WDR Logo and this brand has been sent in Ties and Badges to Members 

The Community side of the Game sees us working with World Rugby Participation Manager, Greg Woods, to ensure support from Members Home Rugby Unions and also to encourage those Home Rugby Unions who do not have Deaf Teams to set up. 

Also World Rugby are setting up Coaching Courses via ISL for Members. There is also following our attendance at the ICSD Conference at Paris the opportunity 

to be recognised as a Member and have Deaf 7’at the Deaflympics 

The Performance side of the Game has seen, following the Bid Selection Process, the 

next World Deaf 7’s will be Japan 2026 and there are proposals in place for Wales 2028 

and New Zealand 2030 

Following the very successful 7’s in Argentina there was a good Tournament in South Africa 

and a number of International Fixtures between Members occurs every year. World Deaf Rugby continues to grow, thanks to your Recognition, for Women and Men and 

we look forward to sending in our Annual Report each year to confirm this!
