STRUCTURE GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT

Fazal Charitable Trust CIO is a not-for-profit organisation with a governing constitutional document.

Management of the affairs of the charity is directed by a management committee which meets twice a year. The charity may appoint and determine the appointment of a trustee who is not a member of the management committee, for the purpose of managing the projects for the charity. FINANCIAL REVIEW

The Statement of Financial Activities shows a net surplus of £4527 for the year and accumulated reserves at 31 March 2025 amount to £4723.

During the year the charity received total income of £42,000, which was applied towards the delivery of its charitable objectives and the development of future fundraising capacity

The charity incurred fundraising and marketing costs of £17,000 during the year. These costs were primarily incurred to increase awareness of the charity’s activities, attract new donors and expand outreach within the local community. The trustees consider this expenditure to be appropriate and in the best long-term interests of the charity, and will continue to monitor fundraising performance to ensure resources are used effectively.

The remaining expenditure was applied directly to charitable activities in furtherance of the Trust’s aims

The trustees have reviewed the reserves of the charity and found them satisfactory for the financial year ended 31 March 2025.

FAZAL CHARITABLE TRUST CIO STATEMENT OF TRUSTEES' RESPONSIBILITES FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2025

Trustees are required by charity law to prepare financial satements for each financial year which gives a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity as at the end of the financial year and of the surplus or deficit of the charity. In preparing those financial statements the Board is required to:-

-Select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently;

-Make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent;

-Prepare the financial statements on a going concern basis unless it I inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in business;

-State whether applicable accounting standards and statements of recommended practive have been followed.

The trustees are also responsible for maintaining proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

We report on the accounts of Fazal Charitable Trust CIO for the year ended 31 March 2025, which are set out on pages 6 to 9.

RESPECTIVE RESPONSIBILITES OF TRUSTEES AND EXAMINER

The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts and consider that an independent examination is required.

It is our responsibility to:

-*examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act

-*to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission under session 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act; and

-*to state whether particular matters have come to our attention

BASIS OF INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT

Our examination was carried out in accordance with the General Direction given by the Charity of Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently we do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT

In connection with our examination, no matter has come to our attention:

(1) which gives us reasonable cause to believe that in any material respects the requirements

-to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 130 of the 2011 Act; and -to prepare accounts with accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act have not met; or

(2) to which, in our opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

OTHER MATTER (FUNDRAISING AND MARKETING DISCLOSURE)

Without modifying our report, we draw attention to the disclosure in the Trustees’ Annual Report and Note X to the accounts regarding fundraising and marketing expenditure. The charity incurred marketing costs of £17,000 during the year, which are included within “Cost of generating funds” in the Statement of Financial Activities. The trustees have provided an explanation of this expenditure within their report.
