Para 1.20 | Increasing awareness and understanding of the Orthodox Christian faith among the people of North East Lincolnshire. The CIO has engaged in direct dialogue locally with other non-Orthodox Christians, and has began to try to provide an Orthodox Christian presence at the local general hospital. Securing monthly Orthodox Christian worship services at Saint Matthew’s CofE Church. This is a fundamental service and a key achievement in relation to our objectives. There is now a regular Orthodox Christian service in Grimsby, which can be attended by anyone in our local community. We have been able to welcome a number of visitors who wanted to learn more about the Orthodox Christian faith. Creating an online presence to make the Orthodox Christian faith known. We advertise our services regularly on |
several online social media forums, sharing information on who we are, what we believe, and inviting all to attend our services. Securing the services of a priest to hold regular worship services. This is another major achievement, and the trustees are working towards making arrangements in the future to pay the priests expenses. Through people visiting our services or making contact in person, we have been able provide emotional support and information for persons dealing with bereavement issues.

| Review of the charity’s financial position at the end of the period |
Para 1.21 | Saint Theodore’s CIO was supported from April 2024-April 2025 through donations from those attending our monthly worship services (i.e. the collection at the service). The trustees have begun to explore ways to raise funds for the mission, and have spoken with other parishes to help develop ideas on how to do this. |
| Statement explaining the policy for holding reserves stating why they are held |
Para 1.22 | Saint Theodore’s CIO policy regarding reserves is that they should be kept to a minimum such that donations received benefit the CIO’s beneficiaries as soon as possible, subject to the following constraints: • The CIO’s resources should be expended in an orderly and planned fashion in order to avoid waste and maximise their impact. • The CIO’s financial stability is maintained such that it can meet its current and future liabilities and commitments. In light of these considerations, Saint Theodore’s reserves policy is that the minimum level of reserves should be equivalent to one month’s operating costs. The CIO does not have a maximum level of reserves held. |
| Amount of reserves held | Para 1.22 | One month’s reserves: £520, due to low operating costs currently |
