The Trustees present thelr annual report and accounts for the year endlng 31" December
2025.
structurei governance and management
Resolute Women's Support Services Is a Charltable Incorporated Organlsatlon (CIO),
registered wlth the Charlty Commlssion and governed by its constitution, dated 7 July 2023.
Prior to the incorporation of the CIO, Re501ute Women's Support Services was an
unlncorporated association. The CIO acquired the charltable funds and activities of the
unlncorporated charity on 07 July 2023.
The members of the CIO are the charity twstees. Membership of the CIO cannot be
transferred to anyone else. The Ilabillty of each member In the event of windlng-up is
limited to a sum not exceedlng £1, but apart from that the members of the CIO have no
liablllty to contribute to assets and no personal responsibility for settllng debts and Ilabllities
in the event of windlng up.
The affairs of the charity are managed by the trustees, who may exercise all the powers of
the charlty.
Appointment of Trustees
In accordance with the temis of the constitution, there must be at least three charity
trustees. If the number falls below thi5 minimum, the remainlng trustees can act only to
call a meeting of the trustees or appoint a new trustee. There is no maximum number of
trustees.
Apart from the first charlty trustees, every trustee must be appointed for a term of three
years by a resolution passed at a properly convened meetlng of the charity trustees. In
selectlng individuals for appointment as charSty trustees, the charlty trustees must have
regard to the skllls, knowledge and experlence needed for the effective adminlstration of the
cio.
Each new trustee Is glven a copy of the constltutSon and the latest trustee's annual report
and accounts, on or before appointment.
The trustees who served during the year are shown on page 3 of this report.
Charitable alms and objectlves
The objectlves of the charlty are:
To relieve the distress and suffering of victims of domestic abuse. in particular but
not exclusively by the provision of advice and practical support.
Publlc Benefit Statement
The Trustees have paid due regard to the Charlty Commlsslon guidance on public
benefit reporting i n deciding what activities the charity should undertake. This report
illustrates the artivities undertaken to support the public benefit requirement.

Annual report of activltles, achlevements and performance durlng the year
l. Introductlon and Overvlew
Thls report covers the actlvities and financial position of Resolute Women's Support for the
period from January 2025 to December 2025. The charity has contlnued to provide crltScal
services and support for women and children afferted by domestic abuse, operating wlth a
focu5 on survivor-centred approaches. Durlng thls period, the charity has made significant
progress in our core mission to empower, advocate for, and support women impacted by
domestlc abuse. We now have I paid member of staff our CEO Deborah Jones (From
28110/25) who has worked as a volunteer from the launch of the charity in 2022. We've
renovated the Lotus Hub to give extra therapy space and to also launch a coffee shop.
2. Charltable Actlvltles and Achlevements
Throughout thls perlod, Resolute Women's Support has continued to deliver a rdnge of vltsl
services to survlvors of domestic abuse in Barnsley and the surroundlng areas. Our
actlvltles included:
Peer Support Groups - women
Resolute's peer support groups offer survivor-led, trauma-informed spaces where
women can share experiences, reduce isolation, and build mutual support. Facllltated by
staff with lived experience, groups empower participants through connection, shared
understanding, and practlcal coplng strategles, helplng sU￿1vOrS rebuild confidence,
resilience, and a sense of belonging.
Advocacy Support
We provlde one-to-one advocacy and support for suNivors navlgating the criminal and
family justice systems. Trained advocates offer emotional support, practical guidance,
ar)d safety planF)Sngi ensurlng women feel informed, believed, and supported while
engaglng with legal processes durlng highly stressful and traumatic times.
Therapeutic Support Packages
Resolute offers funded therapeutic support packages. Including EMDR, for survlvors
experlenclng trauma and PTSD. Delivered by qualified therapists, therapy helps women
process abuse, reduce trauma symptoms, and improve emotional wellbeing, supporting
long-temi recovery and enabling survivors to move forv4ard with greater stability and
confldence.
Volunteering at The Lotus
The Lotus offers volunteeri ng opportunities within a safe town-centre hub, including a
newly launched coffee shop, high-end clothing outlet and wellbeing space. Volunteers
build confiden￿, develop practical and employablllty skllls, form supportive connertions,
and galn experlence that supports progression into training, educatlon, or employment.
Our services continue to be delivered on a volunteer-led basls, and we alm to expand
our reach and increase the impact of our services in the future. We've also had a
Student work placement volunteer for the shop from the local college.
Workplace Domestlc Abuse Tralning
Resolute Wornen's Support delivers accredited online domestic abuse tralnlng to
workplaces, equipping employers and staff to recognise abuse, respond safely and
support survivors. The training Improves safeguarding, reduces risk and helps
organisations meet their duty of care while creatlng informed, compasslonate, and
trauma-aware working environments,

Campaigning and Advocacy
We continued to amplify the volces of survlvors. engaging in both national and local
campaign5 to raise awareness and influence pollcy on issues relating to domestlc
vlolence. We worked closely with local authoritie5 to ensure our voices were heard on
the topic of domestic abuse. Deborah has also been a key component in drlving fO￿ard
the Tag & App Initiative wlth central government and the House of Lords. A trial of this
Is now planned to take place durlng 2026 across 3 different UK Police Forces. Deborah
Jones has also attended many specialist meetlngs around the UK as a guest speaker to
talk about Domestic Abuse Survlvors and the Tag & App initiative.
3. Trustees. Responsibilities and Governance
As Trustees, we are committed to ensuring that Resolute Women's Support is run efflclently
and responslbly. The charlty is govemed by a group of trustees who meet regularly to
review our activltles and strategic dlrection. We ensure that the charity adheres to its core
mission, complies Wlth legal requirements, and upholds the hlghest standards of
transparency and accountability.
During thi5 period, we have Implemented the following:
A full revlew of the governance of the charity Sncluding all the associated policy and
procedural documentatlon to ensure it is all In place and up to date.
Strategic Planning: We have worked on developing a longer-term strategy for the
charity, with the aim of scaling up services and ensuring sustainability.
Rlsk Management: We have continued to monitor risks assoclated wlth the charity's
operations, including financial risks, safeguarding risks, and reputatlonal rlsks.
Appropriate measures have been put In place to mitigate these risks.
Volunteer and Staff Development: We have invested in tralnlng and developing our
volunteers and staff, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge required to
provide high-quality servlces. We have also ensured the charlty CEO Deborah Jones
became a pald member of staff and we hope to add to the paid staffing numbers over
the next year.
4. Plans for the Future
Looking ahead, Resolute Women's Support plans to..
Expand our reach and support more women and chlldren affected by dornestic abuse.
Survlvor Recovery Retreat$
Our 5urvlvor recovery retreats provide safe, restorative spaces for women affected by
abuse to rest. reflect, and rebuild. Combinlng therapeutic support, peer connection, and
wellbeing activities, the retreats help 5uNivors process trauma, regain confidence, and
take meaningful steps towarés recovery away from everyday pressures.
Peer Support Groups - young people
Resolute's peer support groups offer survivor-led, trauma-informed spaces where young
people can share experiences, reduce isolation, and bulld mutual support with peers of
their own age. Facilitated by staff with lived experience, groups empower participants
through connection, shared understanding, and practlcal coping strategies, helping
survivors rebuild confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging.

Therapeutic Support Packages/Creatlve workshops - young people
Resolute offers funded therapeutic support packages for young survivors experlenclng
trauma and PTSD. DelIve￿d by quallfied theraplsts, therapy helps them process abuse,
reduce trauma symptoms and improve emotional wellbeing. Paired wlth a range of
creative workshop5 we enable young people to connect, be heard and feel supported in
a safe place.
Tag & App launch across trlal pollce forces
During 2026 - Deborah Jones part of team worklng with Minlstry of Justice to trial this
new Inltlative to protect Domestic Abuse survivors when the perpetrators are released.
New Tralnlng course for Legal Professlonals for the Repeal of the Presumptlon
of contact rule
To be developed wlth Clalre Throssell MBE this training wlll be aimed at Legal
professionals In the flrst Instance to hlghllght the changes needed in practise to
accommodate the upcoming repeal of the Presumption of Contact law. The plan Is to
also modify this training for other professional organisations and public servlces such as
the pollce, Social services etc
Increase our fundraising efforts and apply for new grants to ensure the financlal
sustalnability of our operations.
Develop coworking partnership opportunity with YWCA
Research and develop additional partnership opportunities throughout the year
We wlll also continue to monitor and evaluate our servi￿5 to ensure we are providing the
best possible support to survivors of domestic abuse.
Fiesolute Women's Support remains committed to supporting women and children affected
by domestic abuse in Barnsley. We are grateful to all of our volunteers, staff, donors, and
partners who help us contlnue our work. We look forward to another year of growth,
impact, and positive change as we work to empower survlvors of domestlc abuse and make
a lasting difference In our communlty.
We'd like to thank our Grant donors.. Awards for All, Brelms Trust, Allen Lane Foundatlon,
Wharfedale Foundation, Garfield Weston Fund, Webmart, Freshgate Foundation, Holgate
Lodge, Screwflx, Hillards Charitable Twst, Charles & Elsie Sykes Trust & Gripple. Their
charitable donations this year have enabled us to continually provide so many vltal servlces,
to renovate the Lotus safe space hub as well as launch the coffee shop and to run our Peer
Support workshops and new Trauma based therapies. We also want to thank local trades
people who provided materials and vital skills free of charye for our renovation work at the
Lotus - Wlckes, Brewers, MKM Barnsley, Ace Carpet Barnsleyi Jurassic Spark Electricians, G
Hackett Plasterlng and Sliders Wardrobes.
The Charlty's pollcy on reserves
The trustees recognise the need to keep reserves at a level which will give the charity
stability to enable it to continue to operate in the fvture. For these purposes, the charity
will aim to malntaln a general reserve In the region of £5,000 at any one tlme, with a view
to Increasing this as necessary once the actlvities of the charity become more established.
The actual level of reserves held by the charity on 31. 12.25, represented by unrestrlcted
funds, was £8,005 {2024: £980).

unrestncted funds, stand at £8.005 at the Yea￿end.

I report on the accounts of the charlty, which are set out on pages 10 to 14.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The trustees
conslder that an audlt Is not requlred for thls year, under section 144 (2) of the Charltles
Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an Independent examinatlon 15 needed.
It is my responsibility to:
examine the accounts, under section 145 of the 2011 Att;
follow the procedures laid down in the general directions glven by the Charlty
Commissioners under sertion 145 (5)(b) of the 2011 Act; and
state whether partlcular matters have come to my attentlon
Bas•s of independent examlner's report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the general dlrections glven by the
Charity Commission. An examination indudes a review of the accountlng records kept by
the charlty and a comparlson of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes
conslderatlon of any un usual items or disclosures In the accounts, and seeking explanations
from you as trustees concernlng any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not
provide all the evldence that would be requlred In an audit, and consequently no opinlon Is
glven as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair vlew. and the report is limlted to
those matters set out in the statement below.
Independent examiner's statement
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attentlon..
which gives me reasonable cause to belleve that in any material respect the
requlrements to keep accountlng records, in accordance wlth section 130 of the 2011
Act, and to prepare accounts whlch accord wlth the accounting records and comply wlth
the accounting requlrements of the 2011 Act have not been met;
or
2. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper
understandlng of the accounts to be reached.

l. Accountlng pollcles
Basis of the re aration of the accounts
The financlal Statements have been prepared on a Recelpts & Payments basls which
summarises the movement of cash In and out of the organisation. In this context'cash,
includes cash equlvalents, such as bank accounts where cash can be readily available to pay
debts as they fall due. Thi5 format of accounts is available to non-company tharities with gross
annual income of £250,000 or less.
Classificatlon of income & ex enditure
Income and expenditure has been analysed In the accounts using natural classification.
Funds strutture
The charity malntains an unrestrtcted fund which represents funds which are expendable at the
dlscretion of the trustees in furtherance of the objects of the charity. Unrestrlcted funds may
arise from grants and donations of a general nature, mernber subscriptions & fees, charges for
goods and service provided and payment for service contracts dellvered.
Restrlcted funds may be provlded to the charlty for partlcular purposes and may only be spent
for the purposes for whlch they were given. Any balance remainlng outstandlng on a restricted
fund at the end of the year is carried forward as a balance on the fund, unless permission has
been given by the funder to remove the restriction on the balance outstanding. Restrlrted fijnds
wlll arise from grants and donations given to the charity for specific purposes,
