Southend-on-sea, 553 OLP Email: Barlin Ma naCT mail.com Our charitable objects are: "The Trust property shall be held upon the trust for the purposes of a village hall for the use of the inhabitants of the Parish of Barling Magna in the County of Essex, without distinction of political religious or other opinions including meetings, lectures and classes and other forms of recreation and leisure time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants." Charity management and fundraising Experience of working with community group5 Civic leadership Public administration, policy and management Independent examinatlon The Trustees havethis yeartaken advantage of the Charity Commission's exemption from the requirement for independent examination of financial statements for charities with a turnover below £25,000. Reserves policy Reserves will be maintained to ensure our core charitable activity may continue during any period of unforeseen difficulty. A proportion of reserves will be maintained in a readily realisable form. The calculation of the required level of reseNes is part of the organisation'5 budget cycle. It considers: Risks associated with each stream of income and expenditure Planned actlvity level and the chariws commitments On this basis, the Trustees believe that for 2025-26, a reserve equivalent to six months, running costs should be maintained. The reserves poli￿ will be reviewed annually. Annual report This report was approved by the Trustees at the annual meeting held on 2fh July 2026 and signed on their behalf. Chair Secretary Financial and legal affairs: business management All our tru5tee5 are volunteer5, offering their time, energy and experience as a way of contributing to the wellbeing of their home community. The team is supported by a volunteer secretary, Mrs Emma Terris, who is an accredited Governance Professional. Aside from the reimbursement of approved out of pocket expenses, the trustees confirm that neither they nor the secretary receive any salary or other remuneration from the charitWs funds. Public Beneflt Statement The charity's trustees continue to observe the charitable objects set out in the governing document. Theytake everystepto ensure thatthe activities of the charity meetthe public benefit test. In so doing, they take account of the Charlty Commission's public benefit guidance when planning the charl￿S activities. The trustees are confident that the activities of the charity demonstrate clear evidence of public benefit. Impact for the yearto 31 March 2026 The trustees report that the main achievements of the charity during the year were,. l. To continue to provide the Barling Magna Parish Hall as 3 much-valued amenity for local residents, in partnership with our lessee Barling Magna Parish Council, 2. Another successful fundraising quiz night was held in October 2025, with thanks to all who made this P055ible. 3. We acknowledge, with gratitude, kind financial donations towards our work Future plans We will continue to work in partnership with our lessee, Barling Magna Parish Council, to ensure that its management of hall lettings on our behalf will serve our charitable objects and demonstrate public benefit. Accounting basis Our accounts were prepared on a receipts and payments basis once again this year. Notes to the Financial Statements l. After costs, the quiz night in Ottober 2024 raised £612.16. 2. Charitable expenditure comprises all necessary costs to enable the charity to fulfil Its charitable objects. 3. The charity owns the freehold of the Barling Magna Parish Hall, 432 Little Wakering Road, Barling Magna, Essex. The m05t recent valuation was carried out by a qualified surveyor and valuer in 2017. The premises are let long-term to the Barling Magna Parish Council on a full-repairing lease. Our lessee manages and maintains the building, ensuring its greatest use to the benefit of our Community. 4, The charity's fund5 are held by specialist charity bank. CAFCash Ltd.
