## **Introduction** 

The trustees of the Fur Community Association of Greater Manchester (FCAGM) are pleased to present their annual report and financial statements for the year ended 2024. This report outlines the activities, achievements, governance, and financial performance of the charity during the reporting period. 

## **Charitable Objectives** 

• Promote social inclusion by supporting individuals from the Fur community in Greater Manchester who are socially excluded due to language barriers, economic hardship, or cultural challenges, such as Asylum Seekers. 

• Advance education advice and training to improve skills, qualifications, and employment opportunities. 

• Foster cultural understanding and appreciation by organizing events and activities that celebrate Fur heritage. 

• Provide relief for individuals in need, particularly through advice, guidance, and support services. 

• Enhance social integration among the Fur community members in Greater Manchester, originally from Sudan, Darfur region and the local community in the United Kingdom. 

• Support new generations in preserving their cultural heritage and strengthening their identity. 

• Foster unity and solidarity among the Fur community through collective work. 

• Support children’s activities to help them develop new skills, enhance their future development, and learn their mother tongue. 

## **Governance and Structure** 

The FCAGM is governed by its constitution and operates under the oversight of its trustees. Trustees are responsible for the strategic direction, governance, and financial management of the charity.

## **Activities and Achievements** 

## **Community Support Services** 

• Provided language support and interpretation from Fur to English for asylum seekers. 

- Delivered advice sessions on housing, employment, and accessing public services. 

## **Educational and Training Programs** 

- Organized online workshops on digital literacy, job application skills, and interview preparation. 

• We teach children the Fur language and provide support in math and English to enhance their academic success. 

## **Cultural Events** 

- Hosted the annual Fur Cultural Festival, attended by over 200 people, showcasing traditional music, dance, and cuisine. 

• Conducted youth engagement activities to encourage cultural pride and intergenerational learning.

## **Children’s Programs** 

- Organised a Children’s Day Out Program, providing educational and recreational activities for the children and adults.

## **Welfare Assistance** 

- Our Charity members collected some clothes and handed to the Charities that support the displacement in Darfur Sudan.

## **Charity Meetings** 

- Held regular trustee and community meetings to discuss progress, future initiatives, and challenges faced by the Fur community.

## **Financial Review** 

Income: The charity’s total income for the year 2023 to 2024 was £8000, derived from members' contributions and fundraising events. 

Expenditure: The total expenditure for the year was £7500.46, allocated as follows: 

- Community programs: £2500 

- Event costs: £3500 

- Children’s programs costs: £1500.46 

## **Plans for the Future** 

- Expand its support services to reach more vulnerable individuals by introducing targeted outreach programs. 

- Launch an apprenticeship and mentoring program for young people. 

- Strengthen partnerships with local councils and other charitable organizations. 

- Increase fundraising efforts to sustain and grow our programs. 

- Planning to get permanent base for our charity. 

## **Trustees’ Responsibilities** 

The trustees confirm that they have complied with their duty to: 

- Act in the best interests of the charity. 

- Ensure that the charity’s assets are used exclusively for its charitable purposes. 

- Maintain proper financial records and prepare financial statements in compliance with UK charity law.
