Tideswell Community Managed Library provides volunteer run library services based in St John's Institute, a building adjacent to the Parish Church. These services are provided under the guidance/management of Derbyshire County Council. In addition the library offers a space for display of the work of local groups and as a hub for social interaction. Free PC use is afforded to registered users.

Objects: For The Public Benefit, To Advance Education And To Provide Facilities In The Interests Of Social Welfare For Recreation And Leisure Time Occupation With The Objective Of Improving The Conditions Of Life For The Residents Of Tideswell.in Furtherance Of These Objects But Not Otherwise, The Trustees Shall Have Power:to Establish Or Secure The Establishment Of A Community Library And To Maintain Or Manage Or Co-Operate With Any Statutory Authority In The Maintenance And Management Of The Library For Activities Promoted By The Charity In Furtherance Of The Above Objects.
