Ipas UK is a member of the Ipas Impact Network, which is committed to a shared vision and mission. Our mission is to ensure that all people have the right and ability to determine their own sexuality and reproductive health. We do this by working through effective, equitable, and intersectional partnerships and integrating abortion into the broader health, gender equality, and social justice movements. The Charitable Objects of Ipas UK are the advancement of health by the promotion, support and facilitation of sexual and reproductive health services including abortion but not exclusively by: A. The advancement of education in relation to sexual and reproductive health services including abortion B. The provision of information and consultation regarding the need for and delivery of sexual and reproductive health care and rights C. The provision of information and training on the need for and provision of sexual and reproductive health care and rights including abortion D. The provision of information, training and advice on standards for the provision of sexual and reproductive healthcare and rights, including abortion. ## **Activities** All Ipas UK activities aim to advance the charitable objects outlined above in support of reproductive health and rights across Africa, Asia and Latin America. We collaborate closely with a range of stakeholders who align with the advancement of Ipas UK’s charitable objects to include but not limited to organisations, charities, foundations, academic institutions and government counterparts and individuals. We support partnerships between these institutions and the Ipas global network to accelerate the charitable objects. Ipas UK is a strategic partner and thought leader delivering information and consultation on the need for sexual and reproductive health care and rights to include abortion. This annual reporting period is the first one for Ipas UK as a registered charity in England and Wales. Following Charity Commission registration, Ipas UK operationalized the charitable objects through the engagement of aligned networks to include sexual and reproductive health and rights networks and gender and development networks and women peace and security networks to amplify the provision of information and advice on the need for sexual and reproductive health and rights (hereafter SRHR). As a member of the Ipas Impact network, we are pleased to present the summary of the Ipas global networks achievements for the inclusion in Ipas UK’s annual report to the Charity Commission. Ipas UK and our partners have made significant strides in expanding access to safe abortion and contraception, strengthening health systems, and building resilient, rights-based movements in 2023-2024. ## **Expanding Access and Impact Globally** This year, the Ipas network reached almost 2 million people across Africa, Asia, and Latin America with vital information on sexual and reproductive health and rights. Through direct outreach, digital campaigns, and community partnerships, teams and trained peer educators provided accurate, life-saving information to over 14,000 individuals in countries such as Bolivia, Nepal, Nigeria, Myanmar, and South Africa. In Latin America and the Caribbean, our digital platforms reached more than 11 million people, ensuring that even those in remote or marginalized communities had access to essential resources. We continued to innovate, notably through the launch of the “Te Acompaño” chatbot in Mexico, designed specifically for migrants along key migration routes. This AI-powered tool has already facilitated nearly 10,000 interactions, connecting users to safe abortion information, support services, and referral resourcesdemonstrating our commitment to meeting the needs of vulnerable populations in crisis settings. ## **Strengthening Health Systems and Building Capacity** Ipas supported over 9,200 access points for sexual and reproductive health and rights to include abortion care globally, including nearly 2,000 sites for self-managed abortion with pills. Our efforts enabled 456,917 people to 4 ## **IPAS UK Annual report 1 July 2023 until 30 June 2024** receive abortion services at Ipas-supported facilities across 25 countries, and more than 1.6 million people accessed contraception. In crisis-affected regions such as the Rohingya refugee camps in Bangladesh, we provided targeted training for health workers, ensuring that reproductive health care remains available even in the most challenging environments. ## **Collaboration and Local Leadership** The Ipas Impact Network’s structure empowers local leadership while leveraging global expertise. This year, we facilitated capacity-building initiatives for our network nodes, supported business development, and fostered partnerships with European embassies and donors. These collaborations have resulted in new funding streams and strengthened our ability to respond to emerging needs. ## **Looking Ahead** As we reflect on these achievements, we recognize the ongoing challenges posed by humanitarian crises, climate change and movements that oppose the advancement of sexual and reproductive health and rights. Ipas remains committed to reimagining how we address sexual and reproductive health and rights-ensuring that our work is locally driven, evidence-based, and responsive to the needs of those most at risk. In fiscal year 2023-2024, initial Ipas UK costs were financed by Ipas US and payments were made through the financial systems of Ipas US. The required financial statements are below. Ipas UK is applying for a UK bank account for financial management in the UK. When Ipas UK secures an account, Ipas US and Ipas UK will enter a service agreement, and Ipas UK will receive funds in its own account. Ipas UK anticipates securing a UK account to have localised by the end of 2025. The Board of Trustees oversee the Executive Director (Jennifer Davies), who leads and manages the organization's operations. The trustees consist of: Pansi Pam Katenga (Chair), Julia Hopper (member), and Heather Barclay (member). The Executive Director reports to Ipas UK Board members on Ipas UK progress and the Ipas UK trustees are responsible for Ipas UK as a UK registered charity with England and Wales. The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and accounting standards. The law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the situation of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources of the charity for that period. In preparing this report, the trustees are responsible for keeping accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy the financial position of the charity and enable them to ascertain to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 1993. They are also responsible for safeguarding the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
