Objectives and Activities
The New Friends of Ashville (NFoA), nurtures the relationships between our community of parents, teaching staff, and pupils, past and present. By engaging in activities which support the College and encourage us to become the best version of ourselves.
Our main activities for the period listed are Bonfire night in November, Christmas Fayre in December, Pre-Loved Book Sales throughout the school year.

Contributions were made from: Parent donation through school tuition, Pre-Loved Uniform Sales, Pre-Loved Book Sales, Bonfire Night Stall Sale, Easy Fundraising Usage Portion, and Christmas Fayre Ticket sales.
Achievements and Performance
New Friends of Ashville has contributed to the purchasing of Fireworks at our school hosted community Bonfire event, contributed to the Year 6 End of Year Celebration, Colouring books for all pupils in Prep School for Christmas and provided a live band for a Sixth Form Event.
Financial Review
Our Starting Fund carried over from the previous period is £3,859. This is our carry over from Parent donation contributions and fundraising events throughout the school year.
Throughout the year we had raised £25,520 through:

Parent donations in their termly school fees; £12,828

Our termly sale of donated pre-loved school uniforms- 50% of proceeds are given back to the donator and 50% is donated to the NFoA unless an item is fully donated then 100% of the sale is given to NFoA £5,206

Our termly fundraising events throughout the year brought in £7,486

Our reserve policy is to keep funds of at least £2,000 and a sufficient amount for year group events plus any outstanding Wishlist purchases.
Related parties include Ashville College, the Trustees and Volunteers.

Ashville College is both a beneficiary and a trusted affiliate, as they collect the termly donations from parents that are forwarded to NFoA, and are the beneficiary of NFoA’s expeditioners through its pupils.

NFoA’s Trustees and volunteers, of whom each have pupils enrolled, become a driving force behind meaningful enhancements to the Ashville pupils educational experience. They receive a small benefit through their own pupil(s) that are enrolled at Ashville College.
Structure, Governance and Management
New Friends of Ashville’s Chair Holders are nominated before our Annual General Meeting with election held during the meeting. All information and accounts are then passed over to the new Chair holders along with any training need to complete the role.

New Friends of Ashville does have a Governers’ Responsibilities Policy in place that outlines the Charity Code of Guidance and Trustees Responsibilities.

Note: This annual report includes a Summer Term donation(termly donations) from the periovous school year of 2022 for a total of 4 termly donations insead of the normal 3. Ashville College was unable to to deposit the funds untill the following school year.

Independent examiner’s report to the trustees of New Friends of Ashville
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the New Friends of Ashville (the Trust) for the year ended 31 March 2024.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner’s statement
in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
-
accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or
-
the accounts do not accord with those records; or
-
the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
