## **ANNUAL  REPORT FOR FINANCIAL YEAR ENDING 30[TH] JUNE 2024** 

## **Financial actvity:** 

**The club has made donations to the following community organisations:** 

**Happy Days Childrens Charity** to enable respite for a local child 

A donation for travel expenses for a Ukrainian student to attend a college in collaboration with other Lions clubs. 

**Handicapped Children’s Action Group** to contribute to the cost of a specialist buggy for a local child. 

**27[th] Northampton Parklands Scout Group** contribution towards attendance costs for the International Jamboree. 

**North Sea Lions** (Lions Clubs International sponsored body enabling international projects) 

**Lions Clubs  Multi District Youth Project** enabling youth development. 

**David Ross Education Trust** donation to local school **.** 

**Kids Cancer Charity** to help local families 

**Billing Brook Special Needs School** -to provide prizes for a school competition 

The club has provided funds towards gilets in collaboration with the Young Farmers organisation with the Lions logo to promote Lions clubs. 

The club raised funds with a can collection at a local Morrisons supermarket and a donation from Methodist Home Stay 

## **Community service actvity:** 

Collect food donations from local Northampton streets for AGE UK so that they redistribute it to local needy people near Christmas time. Which we do on an annual basis. 

Purchase and distribute “ Message in a Bottle” containers provided by the Lions organisation. The medical information contained in these bottles can be used by the emergency services when a patient is unable to communicate. 

Enable a non-alcholic drinks making contest at a local special needs school and provide prizes as mentioned above to promote pupil self esteem. 

**Service by individual members** 



Provide a walk and social activity for people with mobility challenges 

Providing new-born baby hats for the local maternity ward. 

Heip at a  local foodbank 

Give out vaccinations at local medical centre. 

Support for phone line for The  Samaritans. 

Assist youngsters with university applications. 

Help with a Marie Curie collection. 

Tutoring and mentoring students. 

Provided a carol float and Father Christmas at a community centre to entertain local children.
