Governing Documènt
The St Francis of Assisi Primary School Charity is governed by sts constitution and
registered with the Charity Commission on 19th June 2023.
Recruitment and Appointment of Trustees
Tnjstees are appointed by the Charfty
Objectlves and achlevements of the charlty durlng the year.
The charitable objects are to advance the education (including soclal and physlcal tralning)
of the pupils at St Francis of Assisi Primary School by providing and assisting in the
provision of advice. resources and facilities Inot required to bo provided by the local
education authorityl for education at the school.
The charsty benefitted from a jumpstart in ils activity thanks Ihe fomiation of a fundraising
committ8e comprising of our very generous and kind neighbours Niall Mcmahon, David
White and Pau5 Leonard who delivered a charty auction in Julie's RestauranL This raised a

phenomenal £15k of unrestricted income and allowed us to kickstart Magic Breakfast and to
install a drama club twice a week.
We noticed that children were coming to school hungry, and some even fell asleep in class.
By starting Magic Breakfast at our school which is universal and free, there is no stigma, and
children can readily eat from baskets of toasted bagels delivered to each classroom. They
can also engage in fun games in the moming. starting the day in a positive way.
We were also able to top up the generous funding from the Thomas FourKlation to expand
the very popular Little House of Scrence after school club to 2 s&%sions per y￿ak for a full
year.
Qur children are incredibly gifted. we have been amazed at how they have responded to
opportunities. especially creative ones. We are detemlned to offer more of these life-
changing initiatives to our children fully fvnded, so that they can attend regardless of their
family's finances.
We had a gift of £5k from the Aurelia Foundation and £5k from Christopher Bi5choff. with a
further £5k pledged for 2025-26. This generous funding gave us the flexibility to be fully
responsive to the needs of the school by paying for a much needed and very popular dance
class for every year group at school, and a brand-new lunchtime club delivered by our new.
valued partner Solidarity Sports.
We also started a wonderful partnership with Care to Grow wh&reby they generously piloted
their m8ntoring programme with us at no cost. This work is making a huge impact on our
rnost vulnerable children, allowing them precious adult on&tO-one attention
The Sheldon Trust Holiday Fund provided a Gontribution of £2000 towards the June 2025
PGL trlp and It was enomousty helpful to recelve thls fijndlng at the beginning of the year so
that we could help unburden some of our most vulnerable famllles earty on so that they had
an affordable amount to save for their child to be able to attend this much-loved milestone
for year 6 children.
All in all, this has been a great year for Ihe charity; we have developed key partnerships,
successfijlly piloted hugely beneficial projects and crucially expanded our nelwork of support
to be able to grow and meet the needs of our children and families. W8 are immensely
grateful to all our partners and supporters for helping us to help our children to experience
Joy and reach their full potentlal. regardless of their clrcumstsnees.
Reserves Policy
The charity has very almost no overheads or running Gosts as th8 infrastructure costs ar&
covered by St Franci5 of Assisi school. Some freelance project management and fundraising
services are plugged in and covered by unrestrscted income. and these services are only
appointed when fvnds are available. We have a range of partnerships which provide clubs
and support on site at school including rnagic breakfast, science and drama clubs and Care
to Grow emotlonal literacy. These total £14k per year. so £7k for 6 months. After ringfencing
funding for freelance project management and fundraising, we have approxlmately slx
months running costs.
We believe that this reserve is prudent and allow5 the charity lo addrass its principal
objectives of raising funds for its charitable objectives with confidence. More importantly in
"thé past we have had to use our'reserves for urgent, critical support during acute periods of
neod for our mosl vulnerable famllies. Our reserves strengthen our financial resilience but

moreover they allow us to continue to be nirnble, agile, and responsive to the unpredictable,
precarious needs of some of our families.
