## **CCK Trustee Report covering the period January 2024 to January 2025**

## **Activities and Achievements**

During the reporting period, January 2024 – January 2025, **CCK** continued to deliver essential food support and community-building activities across the local area. Our primary objective is to provide local communities with access to healthy food while bringing people together and reducing social isolation.

We currently provide food support to approximately **200 people every week** . This includes the operation of our **Commmunity Shop** , which opens **twice weekly** , offering affordable and accessible food to local residents.

In addition, we cook and serve a **two-course hot meal once a month** for Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing Association residents, creating a welcoming space that supports both nutrition and social connection.

## **Food Supply and Redistribution**

To ensure a consistent and sustainable supply of food, we:

- Subscribe to **Fareshare** , receiving a **weekly delivery of approximately 280kg** of food

- Collect surplus food from **41 regular collections** with local supermarkets each week

This approach allows us to significantly reduce food waste while redistributing nutritious food to those who need it most.

## **Support for Families, Schools, and the Wider Community**

We provide **food hampers** to families requiring additional short-term support. These hampers are tailored to individual needs wherever possible.

CCK actively supports **five local schools** through community presentations and seasonal engagement. At Christmas time, Santa visits the schools, and in return the schools support CCK by collecting ambient food donations during **Harvest Festival and Christmas** periods.

We also work closely with:

- Local councils

- Children’s services

- Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing Association and Rushcliffe residents

- Local **Warm Spaces and Welcome Spaces** community groups

These partnerships strengthen our reach and ensure coordinated support for vulnerable residents.

## **Volunteers and Community Impact**

Our services are delivered with the support of a dedicated volunteer team. We are proud to report that we have **23 regular volunteers** , many of whom rely on CCK not only for volunteering opportunities but also for **social connection, belonging, and community engagement** . Feedback from volunteers is actively encouraged and reviewed, and trustees regularly assess service provision in light of this feedback.

## **Funding and Governance**

CCK has previously benefited from funding from **Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC)** and **Rushcliffe Borough Council** , which has enabled us to sustain and develop our services. We fiscally sustain through donations from service users of **CCK** .

The trustees meet regularly to review operational performance, service delivery, volunteer feedback, and community need. We remain committed to good governance and continuous improvement, ensuring that CCK remains responsive, inclusive, and financially responsible.

## **Public Benefit**

The trustees confirm that they have complied with their duty under section 4 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to public benefit. Our activities provide clear benefit by improving access to healthy food, reducing food waste, and fostering strong community connections.
