## **ANNUAL REPORT** 

The charity was first registered on 16 June 2023 and on 6 August took over the operation of the former members’ group based on the Severn Valley Railway at Bewdley. The assets of the former group which principally comprised a 1960’s era 5 car class 108 DMU train together with numerous tools and spares were donated to the charity at no cost. Fundraising activities were commenced with a target of £100,000 which is the amount likely to be needed to bring all 5 units up to running condition. 



The objects of the charity are, for the benefit of the community, to advance education and learning by preserving, restoring, maintaining and operating a vintage Diesel Multiple Unit train. 

Many of the members of the former group joined as members of the charity, six of whom became trustees. 

Initially a 2 car train commenced service in November and an inaugural members chartered train ran on 16 December. Internal and external work on a third unit, which is fitted out with a drinks bar, has enabled the unit to enter service in February and since then a 3 car train has been in service each month generating income from the Severn Valley Railway. 

At 31 December the group had net assets amounting to £10,566. It is anticipated that the group will continue to receive income from running the DMU on the Severn Valley Railway which should prove sufficient to enable the train to be kept in good running order.
