Clevedon Lions Club CIO

Trustees Report 2023-2024

Our club is run solely by volunteers. We organise various events around Clevedon, for which we either charge a fee or ask for donations. All the money collected is put back into the town to help

other voluntary organisations that are unable to self fund. These include local, junior, football teams, rugby teams, scout groups and social spaces. We also support the South West Air Ambulance on a regular basis.

The regular events that we run are the annual Santa run, where we travel around Clevedon with a sleigh and a Santa to see the residents and brighten the lead up to Christmas. We also run a monthly bacon butty stall at the local Farmers Market, which is very popular.

On an annual basis we have a Classic Vehicle Event where classic vehicle owners come along, for a small fee, so the the general public get the chance to see some amazing vehicles form the past. The majority of these proceeds is given to Children Hospice South West.

Apart from our fundraising events we also have service events, where we simply do things around the town that benefit the community e.g. litter picking, a knit and natter group and annually we invite elderly residents to a tea party where we provide them with afternoon tea and entertainment.
