December 2024 - Winter Tour

This year, we did a three-concert tour of Cheltenham, Ledbury and Abergavenny, supported by the Andrew Harris Charitable Foundation and the Oakdale Trust. Collaborating with harpist Anwen Mai Thomas, we performed to over 250 people across the three days, and gave a workshop at a state school in Hereford. We were particularly keen to bring our choir of young professional singers to this part of the country, where people don’t have much access to professional choral music.

Feedback from audiences across the tour was overwhelmingly positive, praising the quality of the performances, the diversity of the repertoire, and the atmosphere created at each concert. We made good connections with the three venues, all of which expressed interest in hosting us for future performances. Testimonials from students at the workshop were very positive, and since working with us, several of the students have started to conduct school ensembles.

February 2025 - Concert

We returned to Belsize Library for another cosy, relaxed concert between the bookshelves. The choir performed unaccompanied music including short pieces and William Byrd’s Mass for Four Voices. Audience members commented on the ‘unpretentious’ feel of the concert, and the ‘informal, relaxed atmosphere’.

## **Achievements and Performance**

## **Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

The Winter Tour was by far our most ambitious project yet, and we were delighted with the warm reception we received. It was also our biggest fundraising challenge so far, and we are very grateful to the Andrew Harris Charitable Foundation and the Oakdale Trust. We were featured in local press; ticket sales exceeded our expectations; and we were invited back by all venues. Due to the amount of planning involved, we’re not able to do another tour this year, but hope to do it again in 2026.

In all of our concerts this year, we have maintained our commitment to programme at least 50% music by female composers. We have been pleased to find our performances attracting audience members who don’t normally attend classical music performances, and we continue to receive overwhelmingly positive feedback in post-concert surveys and conversations.

This year we have started making links which we hope will help us develop our reach in the coming years. Our conductor Emma is beginning a PhD at the Royal Academy of Music, with plans to use Inchant as the choir for concerts and a potential CD recording. We have also pitched a concert to a classical music festival, which may lead to an exciting collaboration if our proposal is accepted.
