Chairpersons Report. Thoughout the past year the Community Centre as changed to a CIO, we have also updated the Community Centre's premises lease with Durham County Council. We have provided facilities, functions and activities for all residents and organisations of Wingate and the surrounding Villages, regardless of age, sex, political and religious beliefs. We continue to provide facilities to assist and encourage everyone who uses the Centre to interact with family, friends and other users to undertake social, sports, healthy and educational activities to assist in keeping them fit, active, healthy and also to improve their mental health and their educational knowledge I skills. We continue to work with and provide facilities for other organisations in the Village and surrounding Villages, also the Parish Council, NHS, Church and the Police. We are grateful for the donation we receive from the Parish Council which assists in paying towards the overheads of the Centre and keeps costs down for all users to use the centre. We continue to fulfill all government, local authorities statutory authority requirements and maintain the Centre to a high standard of maintainence and cleaning I would like to thank Mrs Collins { manager l and her staff for all their hard work and commitment, this reflects by the comments made not only by the users of the centre, but people from other areas when they visit the centre for the first time re; what a lovely clean, warm building you have and you are so welcoming and helpfull, I wish we had a building like this. During the past year we have continued to suffer from the fallout from covid, the high increase in utility bills including the Centre's maintenance agreements. The high I ncrease in the cost of living is impacting on organisations and individuals, resulting in them using the Centre less than they previously were. The next 12 months is going to be a challenge to maintain and continue to provide the current service we are providing not only for all residents, organisations of Wingate but also the surrounding Villages.
