Trustees report for the period 31st March 2024 to 1st April 2025
Having obtained Planning Permission for the new hall the priority has been getting local contractors to quote for the demolition of the old hall and construct the new one. Our architect carried out the enquiry and vetting procedure and the final contractor chosen with a cost of £335,000 for the complete works.
The planning conditions stipulated that we have an ecological survey carried out on the old hall which resulted in finding Bats present. We then had to obtain a License from Natural England organised by the Ecologist who will also have to supervise the demolition and approve and sign off our Bat mitigation conditions. We also have had to have an Arboricultural survey carried out because of the presence of neighbouring mature trees which has led to some restrictions on working methods for our contractors. With regards to financing the Demolition and Construction we have been able to secure the following funding.
The National Lottery Community Fund £187,000 106 contribution from new development £66,600 GrantScape Red Gap Community Fund £56,625 Dalton Piercy Parish Council Easement Proceeds. £30,000 It is anticipated that all works will be completed and we will have occupation of the hall early 2026.
