## **Structure and governance**

Antrobus Village Hall is a CIO Foundation with a constitution based on the model constitution prepared by ACRE (Action with Communities in Rural England) and approved by the Charities Commission. In addition to the governing Trustees, the day-to-day running of the Village Hall is managed by a Management Committee under delegated powers, in line with the constitution.

The Village Hall constitution has objectives to establish and run a village hall and to promote facilities in the interests of social welfare, being a venue for village recreational and social events.

## **Review of the Year**

Antrobus Village Hall was established over 50 years ago and has been at the heart of the village and a thriving hub for community activities throughout the period since. In the 1970s a new building was erected and since then additional land has been added. The Village Hall acts as a facilitator for many user beneficiaries and in addition to regular bookings from many local groups, the Village Hall facilitates events marking dates of national importance such as The King’s Coronation Party, 80th Anniversary of D-Day and numerous parties to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II’s reign. An extensive contribution is made by volunteers across all aspects of running and maintaining the village hall and in ensuring the successful running of the extensive program of social events for the community.

The Antrobus Village Hall CIO was registered in July 2023 and on 1 October 2023 all property of the previous Antrobus Village hall (charity number 509779) was merged with this CIO in accordance with s.310(2) of the Charities Act 2011.

These accounts are for the first 6 months of operation for the new CIO, and to ensure transparency comparative figures for the previous periods are shown for the old village hall (see page 3 and 4).

Throughout the period The Committee has continued to provide, maintain and improve facilities at the Village Hall.
