The charity remains a small organisation with limited activities during the year, focusing primarily on building a sustainable fund to support Darul-Falah Madrasa in the near future. ## **Governing Document:** Al-Falah Foundation is established as a charitable organisation with the Charity Commission as a CIO (Foundation) and is governed by a constitution. The organisation received its charitable status from the Charity Commission on 24 May 2023. At present, the charity is small in terms of income and expenditure. The organisation currently has three trustees who manage the day-today operations of the charity, and there are no employees. The trustees ensure, to the best of their ability, that proper due diligence is carried out, that the end use of funds is monitored, and that value for money is achieved in implementing projects. ## **Aims and Objectives** Aims and objectives The advancement of education by supporting the educational institution Darul-Falah Madrasa in Shupatola, Beanibazar, Sylhet, Bangladesh, to provide education primarily for poor and needy students. The prevention or relief of poverty, particularly but not exclusively in Bangladesh and the UK, by providing grants, items and services to individuals in need and/or to charities or other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty. ## **Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole.** There was limited activity during the year due to the small scale of operations. However, we are pleased to report the following outcomes: Total income: £3,061 (all unrestricted) Total expenditure: £559 Net funds carried forward: £2,502 While the amounts are modest, this represents steady progress towards our goal of accumulating sufficient funds to begin providing meaningful support to Darul-Falah Madrasa. ## **Challenges** The trustees recognise that the current fundraising environment is increasingly difficult. Donors are often prioritising humanitarian and emergency relief causes, making it more challenging and costly for smaller organisations like ours to raise funds for long-term educational projects. We continue to explore cost-effective and community-based fundraising methods to address this challenge ## **Future Plans** Our immediate priority is to continue building our unrestricted reserves to reach a sustainable level from which regular support can be provided to Darul-Falah Madrasa. Once sufficient funds have been accumulated, the trustees will assess how best to allocate resources towards operational costs and, if feasible, capital support for the Madrasa ## **Risk Management** The trustees identify the risks to which the charity may be exposed, including financial and reputational risks. Once identified and reviewed, appropriate systems and controls are established to address these risks.
