The charity’s objects are to establish, maintain and run a museum in Salcombe for the exhibition to the public of items of local or historical interest and value including items connected with Salcombe’s maritime history. The charity has power to do anything which is calculated to further its objects or is conducive or incidental to doing so, as further set out in its Constitution. |

No one may be appointed as a trustee if they are under the age of 16 years or would automatically cease to hold office under clause 15(1)(f) (disqualification by virtue of section 178-180 of the Charities Act 2011 (or any statutory re- enactment of modification of that provision)). No one is entitled to act as a trustee until they have expressly acknowledged, in whatever way the trustees decide, their acceptance of the office of trustee. If there is no trustee aged at least 18 years, the remaining trustee or trustees may act only to call a meeting of the trustees, to appoint a new trustee. There must be at least three trustees.
