1. Introduction
The trustees of Holding Hearts Baby Loss Support are pleased to present their annual report for the financial year 2024–2025.
Holding Hearts exists to provide compassionate support and meaningful remembrance items to families who experience baby loss. The charity works alongside hospitals, maternity units and bereavement teams to ensure families receive tangible keepsakes and emotional support at an incredibly difficult time.
This year has focused on strengthening existing hospital partnerships, increasing awareness of baby loss support, and ensuring the charity continues to operate sustainably as demand for its services grows.
2. Objectives and Activities
Holding Hearts’ charitable purpose is to support parents and families who have experienced baby loss by providing emotional comfort, practical resources and tangible remembrance items.
During the year the charity’s key activities included:

Memory Hearts – Supplying resin memory hearts to hospitals for bereaved families

Support Books – Providing baby loss and grief support books for hospital distribution

Scan Cards – Supplying ultrasound scan keepsake cards

Hospital Support – Working with maternity and bereavement teams to ensure families receive compassionate care resources

Awareness and Fundraising – Community fundraising, online donations and awareness campaigns
The charity continues to work closely with hospital bereavement teams to ensure resources are delivered sensitively and appropriately.
3. Achievements and Performance
During 2024–2025 Holding Hearts continued to support families through its established hospital partnerships and community network.
The charity supplied memory hearts, support books and resources to hospitals and maternity units, working closely with bereavement midwives and care teams to ensure families received compassionate support at the time of loss.
Throughout the year, the charity strengthened relationships with hospital partners and continued to grow awareness of baby loss support across the community through fundraising events and online engagement.
Holding Hearts remains committed to expanding its hospital network and supporting more families in the years ahead.

The charity recorded a small operating deficit of approximately £45, reflecting continued investment in resources for families. The trustees consider this appropriate as funds are held and used directly for charitable delivery.
Reserves
At the end of the financial year the charity held reserves of approximately £8,634 . The trustees consider this an appropriate level of reserves to:

5. Governance and Structure
Holding Hearts is governed by a board of trustees who are responsible for the strategic direction of the charity and for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Trustees during the year:

The trustees meet regularly and oversee the charity’s finances, operations and development.
No trustees received payment for their role. Trustee expenses were limited to reimbursement of out-of-pocket costs incurred on behalf of the charity.
6. Plans for the Future
Looking ahead, the trustees aim to:

Expand support to additional hospitals and baby loss units

Develop a regional champion network to support hospital logistics

Increase fundraising activity to sustain and grow the charity’s reach
