The charity is registered in England & Wales with the Charity Commission in England & Wales (CCEW) with charity number 1203188
Legal structure of the charity
The charity is constituted as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) in England & Wales. The governing document of the charity is the constitution of the CIO as approved by the Charity Commission in England & Wales (CCEW)
There are no restrictions in the governing documents on the operation of the Charity or on its investment powers other than those imposed by Charity Law. The trustees are all individuals.

The objects of the charity are such purposes as are exclusivley charitable.
In line with the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit the objects of the charity are charitable including in particular:

1) Promoting the principles of good citizenship;

2) Encouraging members to take an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of the community;

3) Providing a forum for the open discussion of all matters of public interest; provided that partisan politics and sectarian religion shall not be debated by members:

4) Encouraging service-minded people to serve their community without personal reward and encouraging the promotion of high ethical standards in commerce, industry, professions, public works and private endeavors: 5) Supporting youth to develop their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature nad responsible individuals:

6) Promoting the Voluntary Sector for the public benefit by associating with local authorities in a common effort to advance education, improve the conditions of life of people in local, national and international communities:

8) The relief of poverty and the relief of those in need in particular by providing humanitarian aid and disaster relief;
The main activities undertaken during the year to further the charity's purpose for the public benefit.
During the year, the charity raised substantial funds from various fundraising events and donated to local and international organisations to support worthy causes. In addition to fundraising, the charity undertook various service-based activities in the local community.

Independent examiner’s report to the trustees of Leicester Charnwoioid Lions Club (CIO)
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Leicester Charnwood Lions Club (CIO) for the year ended 30 June 2025.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’). I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under s. 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under s. 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner’s statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

(1) accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or
-
(2) the accounts do not accord with those records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
