Annual Report: Compassion2All

Overview

Compassion2All is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. Our mission is to advance the Christian faith, particularly among marginalized groups, including asylum seekers and refugees. We offer various services through Compassion Church, which include Sunday multi-language Worship, Bible studies with translation service, prayer meetings, and community support.

Governance

The charity is governed by three trustees: Helen Hwang, Phil Hwang, and Pastor Cho. All three are committed Christians dedicated to extending God's kingdom and restoring souls. Additionally, Joseph Bae, who has a gift for teaching, contributes significantly to our Bible studies. None of the trustees are paid by the charity; they work dynamically through close networking to fulfil the organisation's mission.

Objectives of the Charity

Despite the challenges of working with vulnerable people in the early stages of the charity’s development, the trustees are constantly seeking ways to achieve these goals.

Summary of Main Activities

The trustees are happy that these objectives are consistent with the Charity Commission’s general guidance on ‘Public Benefit’. The following summary of the main activities undertaken by the charity demonstrates how each activity provides public benefits.

Finances

From May 19, 2023, to March 31, 2024, the charity's total income amounted to £12,834, while the total expenditure was £8,767. The majority of the income was contributed by the trustees, with a small portion coming from external donors. Notably, the reliance on trustee contributions has begun to decrease, while Sunday collections are steadily increasing.

The reserves policy forms part of our annual report for the financial year to 31 March 2024. We recognise the need to hold reserves which help meet our ongoing needs and recognise as charitable trustees that we are accountable for the prudent use of resources. The balance of funds in the general reserve at the end of the financial period were £4,067, this is set aside to meet the day to day needs of the charity. This policy was approved by the trustees at a meeting held on 31 March 2024.

Summary

The year 2023 marked a promising beginning for the charity, with the trustees pleased with the activities and outcomes that align with our charitable objectives. Most significantly, witnessing the improved well-being of individuals and families, as well as the love and joy within Compassion Church, has been incredibly rewarding. We are deeply grateful to God for the fruits of our labour, recognizing that He is the initiator and sustainer of the beautiful work carried out through the charity. All glory and honour to the Lord!
