Achlevements and perfom)anco
a. Rovlgw of actlvltles
Over the past year we have continued lo build thè conlent and reth Df the website Seen & Unsggn.11 now has
regular returning audience of around 10,000 people, its mosl popular havo reached over 30,OaCI people,
we now have engaged around 200 writers and published well over 1500 articles. Th8 R&Enchanling podcast
continues to grow and we have add8d three more series of episodes in th8 last year. The podcast has now had
over 1.6m views on YouTube, and several hundred thousand in audio formal, meaning il has been listsnèd lo or
watched around 2million times since it launched.
This past year w8 also ran a second iteration of our Emerginy Leaders, Programme for younger Christian writers
and cornmunicators, many of whom have gone on to publish, notjust on Seen & Unseen, but also in mainstream
outlets, such as Th8 Critic, The fim88. ThFJ Spectator. national Radio 2 etc.
In partnership with the Church of England's SenKJr Leadership Development Team, we also ran anoth8r training
course for new bishops of the Church of England, helping them e￿LOre their publio role. This gained very high
maths frc4n participants in their responses to the COUTSe.
Our Director, Bishop Graham T¢)mlin. published a bNJgraphy of Blaise Pascal, as one of the great 'cullural
witne5se8' of recent history and wa have hekj several events, Ix)th in person and onlin8 for th08e interested in
Pascal's story, and its relewance to contemporary culiural witness. Members of oui team have also spok8n at
numb&r of summer festNals, both Christian events and secuLar ones such as the Hay on Wye and Bradf
literary festivals. We have secured publishiThJ deaLs for tAVO books that will com8 out in 2026. One is enlillad., A
Voice in the Wildemess? Why should anyone listen lo the Church of England? This is a collection of essays
emerging from a project we have worked on with theologians Oxford University on the Church of England's
public wttness. The second is called Come and See.. Towards a Theology of Cuttural Witngss. This is a collection
of essays by scholars who have been brought together as part of the Cuf(ural Wrtne55 F8llowship. a uathering pf
the￿oglanS who are interested in the publ￿ witness of the church and ojnnected to the CCW,
b. Future Plans
Over this past year we have been exploring a possibl8 pather5hip with the Lon&)n Institute for ContempoTary
Christianity. FcHJnded in 1982, UCC is a W￿￿eStabliShed organisation in the UK wh￿h has built up a strong
reputation for working in helping Christians relate their faith to th8ir life in general and to what is hawening in the
surrounding culture. As a resu￿. we have recently signed a legal agreement transferring the asgels of th8 CCW
{the Seen & Unseen website, Pcxjcasts. leadership programmes et¢. as well as the staff taam} lo LICC. The
Centre for Cultural Witnoss will therefore be wound down as a charity over the next year or ￿. We fèel this
givès an exciting future for our work, enabling rt to be nesued within a stronger organisational context with
more robust operational infrastructure behind it. We have also received funding for a pmject on Christian
nationalism which will involve us publishing a number of articles and producing podcast episodes exploring the
theme ofthe various kinds of Chrislian nat￿naliSM on off8r trx)th in Europe and the Unrted Slates and beyond. As
rnentL)ft￿ above, we will see two books published in the coming year. one on Culiural Witness and the other on
th8 public legitimacy of the Church of England.
