Achievements and Performance
| Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. |
The charity was set up and actually opened to the public at the end of July 2023. During the year to 30 June 2024 we made approx 125 loans of items to the public and attended a number of events to raise awareness of the Library of Things- this enabled our members to reduce unneeded expenditure on items with occasional use and our donors to reduce waste on items they might otherwise have thrown away. In the year 2024/2025 we have continued to grow our activity doubling the number of loans every quarter compared to the same quarter the previous year. There are now over 450 people registered on the website and we have made over 650 loans |
Financial Review

|---|---|
| Review of the charity’s financial position at the end of the period |
Balance at bank plus cash £1976 |
| Statement explaining the policy for holding reserves stating why they are held |
Policy:The trustees consider a reasonable level of reserves to be six months operating costs (budgeted to be approximately £200) plus the annual cost of insurance (estimated £400 - £500). The trustees consider it essential to keep this cost in reserve as without public liability insurance we would have to close immediately. This would give a reserve level of £650. |
| Amount of reserves held | At year end we had more than this in reserves (approx £1980). This is mostly due to contracted expenditure for July to September of £450 to increase our social media presence and plans for an additional shed in winter 25/26 |
