## **Objectives and Activities** 

SORP reference Summary of the purposes of Para 1.17 To enhance the development and education of the charity as set out in its children in Wales, for the public benefit, by governing document encouraging parents to understand and provide for their needs through high quality childcare provision. Summary of the main Para 1.17 and Education 1.19 activities in relation to those Hopscotch has continued to provide a purposes for the public consistently high standard of care and benefit, in particular, the education to local preschool children (as activities, projects or recognised by mandatory inspections and services identified in the adherence to policies). Preparing children for accounts. the transition to school and supporting parents in home learning. Family members have access to staff to discuss issues informally and can be offered advice and support at these times or during formal reviews of their child’s progression. Access to All The nursery aims to keep fees as low as practically possible to ensure the nursery is accessible to as many families as possible. We aim to include children with additional needs and liaise with other professionals, e.g. speech and language therapy to ensure inclusion and that developmental needs are met. 

Young Persons Health Hopscotch has completed the Healthy and Sustainable Pre-school Scheme. Offering Work Based Training The nursery currently employs 8 staff. We now have 3 members of staff qualified to Level 5, 3 member of staffs qualified to Level 3 and 1 qualified to Level 2 (with level 3 underway). All staff are regularly provided with relevant training to further their professional development. All statutory training is completed in accordance with the National

The group also works with<br>local colleges to ofer placements for students<br>where requested.<br>Environmental<br>The group contnues to have a focus on<br>environmental issues, working with the RHS<br>and the Healthy and Sustainable Pre-school<br>scheme. It is hoped that this area of educaton<br>will provide the children with the skills and<br>knowledge that will impact on their whole<br>lives.|

There is a<br>licence agreement to enable the use of the<br>demountable building in which the nursery is<br>situated.<br>The wider network includes the Educaton<br>Achievement Service (EAS) and Early Years<br>Wales. The associaton employs 8 staf<br>members. Senior staf liaise with these<br>organisatons to ensure a consistently high<br>standard of educaton and care is provided,<br>and to ensure the appropriate adherence to<br>guidelines and to scrutnise the educatonal,<br>social, legal and health aspects which are<br>mandatory.<br>The main area of risk is that we work with<br>children. Policies are in place in line with CIW<br>guidelines, Early Years Wales advice and<br>Monmouthshire LEA safeguarding to ensure<br>the safety of the children. All staf and students<br>are DBS checked, and must provide 2 writen<br>references.<br>The nursery staf are paid in line with their<br>employment contracts which are reviewed on a<br>yearly basis. Commitee members work on a<br>voluntary basis with no renumeraton, except<br>for any expenses properly incurred on behalf of<br>the associaton.|
