Thornaby Foodbank had been operating as an unincorporated entity since 2015, and during January 2023 the Truslegs reviewed this and decided lo seek incorporalion. This was ellecled through the registration of a new Charitable Incorporated Organisalion ICIOI and the subsequ8nl Iransler ol n81 assets from the unincorpoialed 8nlily lo the CIO on 12 May 2023. The trustees manage the allairs ol the CIO day-lo-day, exercising their powers in good faith in order to further the purposgs ol the CIO being piimarily the provision ol essential products lo those in need in the local area. Providing emergency food. essential loilelries, and household ilerns lo individuals and families in need and l 01 lor distribution by charities or other org&nisalTons working 10 prèvent or reli8ve povèrty. Such other means, including (but not IiTnited lol the provision ol support or signposting lo other relevant inlormalion and advisory services. Achlevements and performance The loodbank has continued to operate successfully during 2025-26. The average nuinber ol benelieiaries each week is 123 adults and 101 children- this includes 21 families with 3 Dr more children, two ol which had 5 or more children. This is a reduction on the numbers frorn 2024-5. The value ol goods distributed is approximately £4,500 a month. the same as last year. This includes additional items, lor example toilelrles and nappies. Over the year, this equates lo over 50,000 meals. A number DI grants were received during the year, including a Teesside Community Granl which was specifically lor the purchase ol long-lile milk. This is being spent in inslalmenls, once or IMc8 pei month. 01 the original £2500, approximately £1650 remained lo be spent as of 31 March. The foodbank also iaised money, via specific donations, lo enable the purchase ol a defibrillator. Volunteers who had passed the First Aid course last year were trained in its use. Flnanclal revlew The CIO received £11,707 in grants and donations during the year, and spent £11.446. (Both ol these figures include £710 raised for, and spent on, the delibrillator.I Income was up by -£1,600.. a large decrease in donations from individuals was compensated by increases in grants awarded and donations from ¢orpoTale bodies. Expenditure was down by -£2.000, reflecting the decrease in the number ol clients and the implemenlalion ol the decision Itaken towards the end of the last financial yearl to ask clients to take a break every third month. The result was a small net incgme of ~£150. AI 31 March 2026 the loodbank had a bank balance of £10,703, with a lurther £322 hold in cash.
