1.20|Gunnislake Cricket Club became a charity in May 2023
(registered charity number 1202981). The charity was formed
in order to have a legal entity to hold a planned lease for the
cricket ground. This was concluded and signed on 8thApril
2024 and runs for a period of 25 years.
On the playing front we again competed in Division 5 East;
with divisions reduced from twelve to ten teams this did in fact
mean we were competing against six teams from last year’s
Division 4. Despite the increased standard, the club and team
held their own, eventually finishing in fifth place.
We continue to share our ground with other clubs and provided
the main home venue for Plympton III throughout the season.
Looking forward to 2026 we have agreed a long term deal to
share our facilities with Callington, who will base their third
team at our ground. We hope and expect this to be a stronger
partnership with a very local club, and expect it to open greater
opportunities for youth cricket.
The club facilities were steadily improved throughout the year,
with an upgrade and tarmacking of our access track a major
achievement.
Club activities are reported and promoted via the local press
(notably the Cornish Times), Facebook
(https://www.facebook.com/groups/473408199470030) and
our own website (www.gunnislakecricket.co.uk).|

shared with Cornwall Air Ambulance.
Individual donations were also significant, and we obtained
some match sponsorship from local firms, with special thanks
to Iconic Opticians in Tavistock and Heidelberg Industries,
who operate the nearby Hingston Quarry.
The Club registered with HMRC during the year, in order to be
eligible to reclaim tax on individual donations via Gift Aid. A
first claim, covering four years, has been submitted, and we
expect to shortly receive over £1,000 from this source.|
