Specifically in 2023, the
church explored the early Church through
the Acts of the Apostles. This preaching
went alongside major focus on key
Christian events at Easter, Pentecost and
Christmas.
In addition to the 40 to 60 regular
attendees at the Sunday service, Kiln
preaching is also recorded and streamed
via a dedicated Kiln Church You Tube and
Facebook channel which are viewed
weekly usually between50 to 150 times.
**Teaching:**
Over the accounting period,two Alpha
courses were conducted, a weekly term
time Christian Union in the local high
school, regular weekly home groups and
children’s teaching at weekly Sunday
School.
In addition, an ‘Away Weekend’ was hosted
for regular church attendees to go deeper.
In 2023, the theme of ‘Spiritual Gifts’ was
explored building on the regular weekly
teaching from the Acts of the Apostles.|

**Evangelism and making Jesus known:** Through the activities of the church many people who did not have an active Christian faith in Ledbury and the surrounding villages were introduced to the teachings of Jesus. This culminated in two baptismal services where new believers were baptised and can now share their story of faith.

Review of the charity’s Para 1.21 We were most grateful that total receipts on
financial position at the end unrestricted funds amounted to £55,137 in
of the period the first 16 months of Kiln’s inception, as
well as a £4,000 restricted donation for AV
equipment, as detailed in the Financial
Statements.
Gift Aid is yet to be claimed on the income
received due to awaiting the first set of
accounts to be filed, as agreed by the
trustees.
Expenses to provide ministry from Kiln
Church amounted to £25,885 for the
period, of which £7.5k was spent on
Ministry Fees and £4k on Community Hall
rent. A transfer from restricted funds of
£2,676 covered the expenditure for a sound
desk and video equipment.
This resulted in a Net Surplus of £33,252
over all funds, which was a great
encouragement to the trustees.
Statement explaining the Para 1.22 It is Kiln’s policy to maintain a minimum
policy for holding reserves balance on unrestricted funds of £15,000,
stating why they are held which equates to three months unrestricted
payments. This is to cover emergency
situations that may arise from time to time.
Amount of reserves held Para 1.22 Part of Kiln’s giving policy is to donate ten
percent of all income to other charitable
causes, however, this policy was only
actioned after the current accounting
period, being part of the reason for
reserves being higher than planned, at
£33k.
Another factor in retaining reserves at £33k
was prudence by the Trustees to ensure
that Kiln would be financially viable for at
least the first three years from inception.
Reasons for holding zero Para 1.22 N/A
reserves
Details of fund materially in Para 1.24 N/A
deficit
Explanation of any Para 1.23 Kiln is gathering support in a growing
uncertainties about the community both numerically and financially,
charity continuing as a going so no fears exist about the Charity not
concern being a going concern.
**----- End of picture text -----**
## **Kiln Church Ledbury Trustees Annual Report and Unaudited Financial Statements For the Period Ended 31st December 2023**

## **Independent Examiners Report to the Trustees of Kiln Church Ledbury**

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Kiln Church Ledbury (the Charity) for the period ended 31[st] December 2023.

## **Responsibilities and basis of report**

As the charity trustees of the Charity, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).

I report in respect of my examination of the Charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

## **Responsibilities and basis of report**

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

- accounting records were not kept in respect of the Charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or

- the accounts do not accord with those records; or

- the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached
