**many rural libraries by the local**
**authority due to funding difficulties,**
**representatives of the community were**
**able to secure long-term use of the**
**library premises and reach an**
**agreement with the local authority to**
**continue to supply both a stock of**
**books and a management system. This**
**enabled the basic functions of the**
**library to be maintained.**
**As a result of the dedication of the two**
**dozen volunteers, local businesses and**
**trustees, the library now acts as a focal**
**point for the local community. Not only**
**does it act as a valuable information**
**resource for people of all age groups,**
**but its services and role has been**
**expended to host community groups,**
**social events, provide a safe warm**
**spacer and fund raise for further**

**let to us rent free and as such our**
**regular outgoings are modest. We are**
**fortunate in generating a regular income**

**as a result of a recent development in**
**the village.**

**of the above, we are confident in our**
**ability to continue to develop our role**
