Aims and objectives
Supplying aid, advocacy, nutrition, a two-course lunch for homeless, rough sleepers and those suffering and experiencing hardship in the community, anyone who is lonely and needs support. Doorways also offer shower and washroom facility, the facility is free to anyone in need and includes food, clothing, food-to-go, sleeping bags, toiletries from local supplier donations that are stored for distribution in the hub venue.

Charity’s work
Doorways Middlesbrough provides and supports clients with a hot meal three days a week. Support and plan for homeless, vulnerable and anyone suffering hardship in the community to benefit and for them to receive support with their daily needs and future planning. Doorways continue to offer a personal hygiene facility also housing and health support. Provide support and facilities and are to assist the many homeless and rough sleepers in Middlesbrough with the help to turn their life around, to interact and engage with service practitioners. Doorways provide and serve food for up to 60 clients daily, without these services homeless and rough sleepers in the community would have very little or no support, the support Doorways provides
has an immense impact on client’s lives knowing they have the support and facilities at Doorways Café and Hub to turn to for support.
Doorways hold a register and data base of service users, each member signs in to the establishment to access food and register as a client user, those in need of a particular service are sign posted to other practitioners and services, record keeping of clients and the service members have accessed and engaged with.
Doorways Middlesbrough Trustees and volunteers believe operating at grassroots level that a better and clearer understanding for the need Doorways facility provides as of the consistently high number of people attending the service daily. Doorways volunteers are the focus of advocacy and reasonably give up their time when they can. Doorways put people’s voices at the centre of their mission and ensure homeless and vulnerable people in the community are represented and have a strong voice.

Doorways have linked up with the following practitioners operating from Doorways Hub on a weekly basis.
JCUH Hep C nursing staff, NHS staff providing HEP C testing.
Smoking cessation clinic.
Addiction services.
Probation services.

Where our money comes from
Doorways funding for the financial year end 2024 came from personal donation and external charities and funders: -
The National lottery, Floweserve USA, Screwfix, B&Q, PD Teesports, Middlesbrough Council, Erimus Rotary, Neighbourly Foundation, Thirteen Housing Group, CEO Sleepout, Longlands Social Club, Roseberry Coffee Co. Ford Group.
How we have spent out money
Doorways income was spent on premises rent, utilities/gas/electricity/water rates.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31/12/2024.
Responsibilities and As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the basis of report accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner's statement

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination (other than that disclosed below *) which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or
-
the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
-
the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
