LDA CIO

After a fantastic year being a CIO, we have achieved so much.
: Gaining expertise in our volunteer members, we have achieved lots of training with lots of certifications, we use good practices in all we do.
: Janet Clarke who has an advanced Health & Hygiene certification, also H&S a risk assessment is in place for general health and safety and HACCAP for food safety with the appropriate risks identified and actioned.
: Debora Price and Maxine Hipkiss have their Personal Alcohol Licence. : First Aiders we have - 6 now qualified plus we own a defibrillator.
: From doing Coffee Mornings every Monday from 30 people attending to 170 every Monday with a huge waiting list. The entrance fee is £2.50 this includes brunch and drinks.
: They play bingo all proceeds are paid out. We have a bric a brac stall which is our income and also, we do a raffle. We provide entertainment twice a month with a singer.
: We have purchased three industrial toasters, cups, plates, cutlery, milk jugs, hot water boilers, storage boxes, clothes rails, we all wear t shirts with our names on and aprons to match all paid for by LDA.
We also brought a cooler for the fresh cream cakes, we sell our cakes for 50p, most volunteers bake and do not receive their money back for the ingredients as they donate them, but the offer is always there if they need the cost back.
: LDA do an afternoon Fish and Chip afternoon once a month on the first Thursday of the month.
We offer a choice of £6 per ticket you bring your own Food or £12 which includes Fish or Roe and chips, plus entertainment, we have purchased our own glasses for these events. We have a craft group every Tuesday that make all the decorations for the Hall we use, we have 1,000’s of pictures of this, the age attending is mostly over 55’s to 99.
: LDA also do a free IT class for learners working in partnership with Black Country Housing this is also a huge success.
: LDA have recently introduced a seated exercise class every Wednesday for 45/55 minutes entrance fee is £2.50.
: LDA also do monthly day trips either one or two coaches, normal cost is £15 for the coach fare.
: LDA also go to the Theatre once a year, the cost is normally around £30 each, this includes coach fare.
: LDA do charity funding, at the local Carnival and at a food venue, we raise funds for LDA, but also others that are struggling too. The Brownies, Navy Cadets, Salvation Army and our own Craft Club.
: LDA always think of safety, we have Fire Marshall’s in place.
: LDA accounts are checked and verified once a month with all receipts in order.
: LDA has a constitution, which all the Volunteers sign.
: LDA also has a face book page called Let’s Dance Again CIO with over 1,700 followers.

(We started this journey on 4th November 2021 first fish and chip afternoon with Paul Birch at The Wesley Ctr Church Hall, paying for the Church Hall by bank transfer from myself to John every month £50 but realised a Coffee Morning would be good too, Deb said let’s try it every Monday.
