The Trustees present the annual report and financial statements of the tharrty for the
year ended 31 St December 2023. The financial statements comply with current
statutory requirements for the requirements of the Charty's goveming document.
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
The charity's objects are for the relief of financial hardship amorrfJst people living
within the Three Rivers District Council area and surrounding areas by providing
such persons with food and such other assistance as the trustees think frt in an effort
to restore dignity and revive hope through..
Practical communty basgj action against hunger, povety and marginalisation
and
Partnering with local churches and other charrties and organisations to bring
about lasting change to those in financial hardship.
All the Trust's Management, Trustees and y￿rkerS are volunteers.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
The Trust was set up and registered on 241hApril 2023 and in time will assume the
assets and liabilities of Mill End Community Trust Charity Registration 1150227. This
change was felt necessary in order for the Trust to enter into lease arrangem8nts for
its premises.
The year has been one of transiiion with the setting up of new bank accounts to
facilitate the transfer arrangements.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
The Trust has been in receipt of d￿ationS from supporters and has received interest
from its bank account where money has been transferred from the fomier charity. It
has incurred very minor costs a&w)ciated with the setting up of the charity.
STRUCTURE. GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
The charty is govemed by a constitution that was registered on 24th April 2023. The
charity's activities are overseen by the committee of Trustees. The Truslees m￿t at
least eight times in the year to monitor the efficient day to day njnning of the charity.
There are no paid staff.

Trustees have been appointed in accordance with the constitution and retire in
rotation. The Trustees have assessed the major risks to which the charity is exposed
and are satisfied that systems are in place to mitigate exposur8 to major nsks.
STATEM ENT OF TRUSTEES RESPONSIBILITIES
The trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with
applicable law and UnFted Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Pradic8.
Law applicable to charities in England and Vkles requires trustees to prepare
accounts for each financial year whith giv8 a true and fair view of the tharity's
financial activities during the year and of rts financial position at the year end.
In preparing accounts giving a true and fair VEW, the Trustees sh￿Id follow best
practice and..

Make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent..
State whether applicable accounting starKlards and statements of
recommended practice have been followed, subject to any departures

presume that the charity will continue in operation.

The Trustees are responsible for keeping accx)unting records that disclose with

accounts comply with the Charities Act 2011 and the provisions of the steps for the
prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

1. Accounting polices
Basis of preparation
The accounts have been prepared undw the historical cost convention with
ilems recognised at cost or transaction value unless stated in the relevant
note{sl to these accounts.
The financial statements have b￿n prepared in accordance with the
Statement of Recommended Practi￿. Accounting and Reporting by Charities
preparing their 8ccounts in accordan￿ with the Financial Reporting Standard
applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) effective 1 January
2015.
The accounts have departed from the Charities (Accounts and Reports)
Regulations 2CK)8 only to the extent required to provide a true and fair view.
This departure has involved applying 'Statement of Recommended Practi￿.
Accounting and Reporting by Charities weparing their accounts in accordance
with the Financial Rep￿ing StarKlard applicable in the UK and Republic of
Ireland IFRS102) effective 1 January 2015 rather than the version of the
Statement of Recommend8d practi￿ referred to in the regulation but which
ahs since been wrthdrawn.
The charity constrtutes a public benerrt.
The Trustees considers that there are no material uncertainties about the
charity's ability to continue as a going Conc￿1.
Income recognition
Income is recognised once the charity has entitlement to the inccNne, it is
probable that the income will be received and the arnc￿nt of incA)me can be
measured reliabty.
Donations, legacies and other fomis of voluntary income are recognised as
incoming resources when receivable, except insofar as incapable of financial
measurement. All other fcffms of income are recognised on a re￿1vable basis.
Income relating exclusively to fuiure accounting periods is deferred.
Expenditure recognition
Expenditure is recognised when a liabilty is incu￿ed.
