The Charity undertook 7<br>workshops to date. The Charity Trustees<br>who are professional mental health<br>practitioners volunteered to deliver mental<br>awareness and promotion workshops with<br>diversified groups including asylum seekers<br>and refugee population residing in Leeds<br>UK, from Ukraine, east Africa and<br>Afghanistan and Iraq, black and ethnic<br>minority groups, and other wider population<br>groups including in churches and university<br>groups.<br>In these sessions the residents of Leeds,<br>have benefited from getting<br>psychoeducation about mental health,<br>noticing the signs of mental ill health,<br>implementing self-help strategies, and how<br>to contact mental health and support<br>agencies and services in Leeds.<br>We believe that this has benefited the<br>residents of Leeds to enable them to<br>improve their mental health by encouraging<br>them to engage in low-cost self-help mental<br>health promotions activities like taking<br>walks, increasing social contact and<br>maintaining value-based activities.<br>Furthermore, we believe that this has a<br>positive effect in reducing overdependence<br>on primary and secondary care mental<br>health services when residents are<br>maintaining good mental wellbeing.|
