## **Objectives and Activities**

governing document|Para 1.17|**The Charity Trust has two charitable objects:**
(a)
to advance the education of the public in general and in particular, but not limited to, of
teachers at schools and academies through the provision of training and support on the
use of positive psychology principles in the form of the ‘Hope Curriculum’ in education, and
the promotion of continual personal development, teacher training and pedagogy;
(b)
for the public benefit of people residing permanently or temporarily in Lincolnshire and its
surrounding areas:
(i)
the relief of sickness among those experiencing or at risk of poor mental health by
the provision of therapeutic counselling; and
(ii)
the preservation of good mental health by the provision of non-verbal therapies and
linked resources for such therapies.
As such the Hope Network is authorised to work with schools on positive psychology and hope an direct
individual work with pupils who are sick or are vulnerable to poor mental health.|

The first is the procurement of a bus and its conversion as a therapy bus. Although, this has not quite been
finished it is substantially fixed.
In addition, the charity has been working on a pilot project with All Saint’s Primary, North Hykeham. This
has resulted in the training of two members of staff and worked directly with 8 children. The school has
now worked with an additional 24 children, and it is sustainable in its own right.
The Network has now started working with Birchwood Junior School, and King’s School Grantha,|

because:
The work done with the young people at All Saint’s Primary is beneficial to them. This is known, rather than
opinion because, the measurable hope scores of these pupils have increased. The qualitative evidence
from teachers in the school is that pupils have a greater sense of belonging and have better engagement
in class. Pupils attendance increased as well.|
Public – In this instance the benefit has been to any child who has been attending the All Saint’s Primary School North Hykeham. This has been approached as a case study. Because of this work the scope of the “public” has increased as it now includes pupils from the Birchwood Estate in Lincoln and the pupils attending the King’s School, Grantham.
