Aims & Purposes
The Winchester Lido Sports Association provides premises, facilities and necessary basic equipment for members of the public and associated member organisations to participate in badminton, martial arts, fitness training and other recreational activities as interest and demand may arise. We aim to actively encourage and promote recreation and sport in the community thus meeting the requirement of public benefit.
Activities
Badminton
The centre’s main activity is badminton.
Martial Arts
The centre has a matted area dedicated to Martial Arts.
Fitness Classes
The centre is used for various fitness classes including dance, Pilates, Fit Club.
Other Activities
The centre is used for other activities including table tennis, indoor cricket and film showings.
Leased Left Wing of Building
Holloway Health and Fitness have operated in this area throughout the period.
Achievements and performance
The charity was incorporated on 14 April 2023 with a view to transferring business from a non incorporated charity of the same name (CC no. 1085447) . During 2023 the trustees engaged legal advice to manage this transition and the setting up of a new bank account which wasn’t possible until 1 March 2024
Consequently the new charity had no transactions in the financial period 14 April 2023 till 29 February 2024. There is an associated body Winchester Lido Sports Association Trustee Ltd that holds a property as custodian. The property was to be transferred to the charity but has been held up by HM Land Registry and not expected to occur until July 2025.

Financial Review
There have been no financial transactions during the period
Reserves Policy
It is the policy of the charity to maintain a balance of unrestricted funds equivalent to three months normal expenditure, equivalent to £10,000.
Repairs Reserve
The policy of the charity also allows for the accumulation of reserves to fund major restoration and maintenance work to the building.
Staff and Volunteers
The Centre Manager was TUPed from old charity to this charity on 1 March 2024.
The Lido Committee is responsible for the overall direction of the charity, including how funds are spent. The Committee generally meets 4 times a year.
Administrative Information
The Winchester Lido Sports Association is situated at The Lido, Hyde Church Lane, Winchester.
