7[th] Heaven Hedgehog Rescue is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).  The charity’s purpose is to: 

Promote for the benefit of the public the conservation and preservation of the hedgehog species by 

- providing first aid, treatment, and rehabilitation to sick, injured or orphaned hedgehogs in Retford and the surrounding area with the aim of releasing such hedgehogs back into the wild wherever possible 

- educating the public about the care, methods of treatment, conservation and habitat of hedgehogs with the aim of improving the survival rate of the species. 

During 2023, the charity had 6 trustees, listed above.  The trustees oversee the day to day work of the charity.  The charity did not recruit any further trustees during the year. 

During 2023, the charity: 

- Raised funds for, and awareness of, its work through events and local media 

- Engaged with national and local organisations concerned with the care of hedgehogs to coordinate efforts and ensure best practice 

- Attended events and gave talks, and engaged on local social media about hedgehogs and the work of the charity to raise awareness and funds 

- Provided first aid, treatment, and rehabilitation to hundreds of hedgehogs, and released almost all (all those that were fit and safe to be released) to appropriate safe locations. 

The trustees met during the year and were involved directly in the work of the charity.  The trustees noted the high level of demand for advice, support and hospital care of hedgehogs from the Retford area and beyond.

## In 2023: 

- The charity’s total income was £2,977.02: 

   - donations & legacies - £2,928.35 

   - other - £48.67 refund of items bought. 

- The charity spent £4,299.51: 

   - £4,299.51 on rescue operating costs.
