condttions of life of Such Perso￿$.
The charity was set up in 20ZJ to make football and swrt more accessible for people of all ages
and abilities. In our first year of operatin& we've delive￿ a range of Programmes to enable
people to play sport from the age of 4 to 84. We've created 70 affiliated teams. including disability
teams, walking football, women and girLs and a range of junior teams. Our ethos is 'People not
Players,. We want to create an environment where people get joy from playing sport in a way
that leads to their personal growth. We work with a range of key stakeholders who buy into this
vision including local schools, The Pathfinder Programme and our partner Charity The Charlie
Fogarty Foundation,.
Achievements and perfonnance
We have delivered a variety of funded programmes to support the I￿1 community.
We deliver an outreach football prOgraMn￿ at the Hawkesley Community Centre in Kings
Norton. The Hawkesley estate has the bishest rates of child poverty in the entire city. We were
concerned that the cuts in youth services had meant the counciI's youth work offer had ￿en
reduced. We therefore stepFEd in to deliver 2 weekly sports sessions and expanded the delivery
during the 6 week holiday period.
Our local research foundation that gir15 were ￿]ng preduded from taking up physical activity
from the surrounding area due to concerns over a lack of safe space5. A5 a result we secured
Sport England funding to deliver a pmgramme that provides them with a weekly Futsal session
and Padd tennis. The project has ￿en cruaal in giving the participants a sense ol belongin&
where ean expre&s themselves without fear ofiudgtnenL
We have successfully delivered a Wa]king Football project that enjoys participation from 30
partiapants weekly. Such is the popuIarity of the project we now nm 2 se55ions a week. The
project has been parficularly effective in engaging ￿￿PIe who otherwise would not engage in
social activities. helping them ktcome more connecied to their conununity.
We have deIiveTed a hoIiday programme during each of the school holidays, stspporting over 300
children. The camps are subsidized via a generous donation from premier league footballer
Nathan Redmond. Thi5 has meant IixaI working fatnilies have access to affordable, high quality
sports enrichment activities during the holiday perAOd.
We've deIivered sports programmes in 12 I(￿al sch(M)I helping children and young people
develop a pa&sion for sport and physical activity. We worked with Pathfinder to deliver
Christmas Hampers to familie5 in need from our l(ral communities.
