Achievements and Performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the chai k ha ade the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole.
The Church continues to operate two weekly services (on Sunday mornings and evenings), which are open to members of the church as well as to the public. In addition, we provide for weekly Bible study meetings on a Wednesday evening. The Church was glad to welcome four individuals into its membership.
In September 2023, the Church employed an assistant pastor for a period of one year. This has enabled the Church to increase the scope of its activities pursuant to its aims of advancing the Christian faith. Notably, we were able to:
-
commence a couple of new meetings/ministries, one for children between the ages of ten and fourteen and another aimed at younger adults within the congregation;
-
carry out further outreach and evangelism in the local area, principally in the form of door-to-door work and tract giving in the local area; and
-
host a one-off quiz night in the autumn of 2023, which also involved the sharing of a testimony.
The Church has continued to progress work in converting the lower ground floor of its building into three apartments (planning permission for this work was received in June 2022). We believe the work to be important to achieving our objectives as a Church (it is hoped that the accommodation can be partly used to house church workers), as well as ensuring that we are good stewards of the church building. The technical design phase is well underway with the architect and structural engineer together with other specialists being lined up to complete the design to an appropriate level of detail before tenders can be issued to potential contractors and for the work to commence on site. We are grateful to those who have generously supported the project thus far, and we continue to make efforts to raise the sizeable funds required.
