Yateley Men’s Shed uses its facilities and equipment for members to come together in a social environment and enhance their woodworking skills and abilities by:- 

- Making or repairing items for their own use. 

- Repairing items for the General Public 

- Undertaking projects for the Local Authority, Schools, and Other Charities etc. 

- Making items for sale at local shows and craft markets.

- Refurbishing old tools so they can be put back into use rather than go to landfill. 

- Assisting youth groups such as Scouts to develop their skills through training and support. 

- Recycling old timber products into usable items, avoiding the wood being sent to scrap.

Section D                      Achievements and performance 

**Summary of the main** During the year we achieved the following:- **achievements of the charity** • Attended the Yateley May Fayre to support the Lions Club **during the year** Charity, raise funds by selling hand crafted goods and advertised for new members. • Attended the Yateley Feel Good Festival to support the Yateley Town Council’s Wellbeing Campaign. • Attended the Yateley Christmas Market • Attended Yateley Council’s Craft Fair. • Attended Yateley Lion’s Firework Festival with children’s games and entertainment. • Refurbished an ex-building site office into a new Social Area by adding a kitchen, toilets, Wi-Fi, security cameras and large screen monitor. This was formally opened by the Yateley Town Mayor. • Organised Quiz Nights and Social Events for members. • Repaired play equipment for a local nursery. • Assisted the Royal British Legion in making a Poppy Wall for the Remembrance Ceremony. • Refurbished 15 Picnic Tables and distributed them to local sports groups. • Designed and constructed Carnival Games to enable a local school and children’s charity to raise funds.

## **Brief statement of the** 

## **charity’s policy on reserves** 

Total Bank and Cash held at 5th April 2025 was £13,977 in unrestricted funds. 

We normally hold funds to cover 12 months utility costs and commitments. However this year we have needed additional funds to cover the purchase and refurbishment of our new Green Room Social Area. 

**Details of any funds materially in deficit** 

None

You **may choose** to include additional information, where relevant about: 

- the charity’s principal sources of funds (including any fundraising); 

Our main source of income is the annual membership fees and fundraising projects. 

However this year we received grants totally £13,500 from the District Council and the Lottery Fund specifically for the Green Room Project 

- how expenditure has supported the key objectives of the charity; 

- Investment policy and objectives including any ethical investment policy adopted.

We intend to use our funds to further equip our Workshop, including better machine tools and a more comprehensive dust extraction system to improve air quality for members.
