The objects of the CIO are: To advance the Christian faith for the benefit of the public throughout England and Wales through messages of an evangelistic, teaching and educational nature, producing and /or distributing literature and training others to do the same. Enlightening others about the Christian religion through outreach and pastoral care.

Public Benefit: In producing their assessment of the benefit to the public provided by the Charity, the Trustees confirm that they have complied with the duty in section 17 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit. The Trustees are keen to enable ministry among those who cannot afford to pay for it, and also in pioneer situations where there is no established congregation to pay for the ministry. The Trustees believe that the support and funding given are an investment in the future; those trained for ministry will give many years of service to their congregations or local communities, and the seed capital invested in new ministries will help sustainable ministries to be established for years to come. The Trustees also recognise the significant financial impact of Covid on the lives of millions of people compounded during the past year of runaway inflation and the cost of living crisis. Local churches and Christian communities are increasingly being used to provide practical support including food, essential supplies and warm spaces along with a listening ear. Appropriate signposting or support to help people access the financial means to ensure help with rents and heating and benefits to prevent homelessness and declining mental and physical health is often available. This is one of the key purposes and objectives of the Charity and is available to all people in need and key to prevention and sustainability for individuals and families at this time. Faith in action serving and supporting people regardless of belief, ethnicity, background and circumstances, meeting immediate need and crisis.

Safe & Sound Gospel Ministries (SSGM) exists to support Christian workers, Evangelists and Missionaries to share and explain the good news of the Bible through messages of an evangelistic, teaching and educational nature and appropriate training and support. We will also look to provide practical, pastoral and spiritual support for people in particular need for the prevention and relief of poverty. The Trustees welcome insights and information from gospel partners about worthy people and projects to support. SSGM always aims to make grants to supplement other sources of funding for claimants. It also aims to create a partnership with each beneficiary that goes beyond financial giving. There is a clear application procedure and form and outside advice and references are sought. SSGM aims to avoid being the sole source of funding for any applicant unless it’s to cover specific training or course fees and associated travel and subsistence. 

Who should apply: The Trustees welcome applications from people either in church ministry or considering church ministry, evangelists serving local churches or reaching new communities, trainee schemes or apprentices; and from churches impacted by increased costs impacting the livelihoods of people already in associate or similar roles. We are also supportive regarding new initiatives. The Charity focuses on the UK, supporting people and projects from elsewhere only where there is a clear UK connection. The Charity is conservative evangelical in its theology and successful individual applicants are likely to be so also, or training to better understand the Bible and its application for today.

## Section D                      Achievements and performance 

**Summary of the main** During the year the Charity supported three evangelists / individuals with **achievements of the charity** two of them at different times also supporting and serving to revitalise a **during the year** local church in Dorset. Sufficient funds were received from a range of donors and via Stewardship to enable that to take place. At the year end the charity continued to support one evangelist and had sufficient funds to consider additional applications during the following year. 

This is fully in line with the Objectives of the Charity.

The Charity is administered by the three voluntary Trustees who have a range of appropriate skills for running this Charity.
