We promote and expand public knowledge and appreciation of art, literature and social history from a female perspective, through restorations, exhibitions, and education and cultural initiatives. Calliope Arts is based in London and carries out many of its programmes in Florence, Italy.
Objects: 1. To Advance The Education Of The Public In The Subject Of Women’s Achievements In Art, Literature, Science And Social History, Primarily But Not Exclusively The Achievements Of Women In The Period 1600-1900 In The UK And Italy Through:a) Promoting And Expanding Public Knowledge And Appreciation Of Art, Literature, Science And Social History From A Female Perspective;b) Supporting And Funding The Restoration Of Literature By Women;c) Supporting Education Initiatives In The UK And In Italy In The Subject Of Women’s Role In Art, Literature And Science And Social History;d) Supporting Other Cultural Activities And Undertakings In The UK And Italy Which Highlight The Contributions Made By Women In Art, Literature, Science And Social History.e) Other Means As The Trustees May Determine.’2.
