Axholme Cat Rescue is a registered Charitable IncorpNated trganlsation governed by bts
Constitution (foundation mcthl), approved 6th Nnl. The organisation was registered with
the Charity Commission on the 6th April 2023.
The trustees fonn the Executive Commlttee of the charity. The members of the Executlve
Committee are elected at the Annual General Meeting by the memters of the Charty. All
members are circulated with invttations to nomlnate trustees in advan￿ of the AGM.
The cOns￿l0n of the Charity stats that there must be at least thr￿ tharty trustees, with
no maximum Ilmit.
Apart from the first charity trustees all trustees are appolnted for a 3 year tenn by a
resolutlon passed at a properly convened meeting of the charity trLStees.
All trustees are provided with the Charlty Commissions'Roles and Rwjnsibil￿.es of
Trustees,, the Constitution and the flnancial statements indudlng the Annual Rewt. Any
training required by the trUSt*s may be ￿Ue#ed at any p)irt, where it is considered usdul
to thelr role as Injstee.
The board of Trustees manages the ChaTity, and alms to corsits only strategic decisions at
its meetings. Trustees are aware that any conflict of Inter￿ is declared and recorded and
the person will be withheld from that part of the meetirKJ and will not be able to vote for that
bit of discussion. The ￿rd holds an AGM ew year, other than that any charity trnstee
may call a meeting during the year.

The Maj￿ risks, to whith the tharity is ex[K)s￿, as id￿tffied by the Trustees, have been
reviewed and systems have been e5tablistRd to mitigate those risks. All systems and
tyocedures are rediewed regularty to ensure they meet charity law arKI our own
organisations aims and objectives.
Objectlves and Artivities
The charityls Ob￿ Is:
"For the benef￿ of the to ￿lIeVe the sufferlng of cats and kittens In need of care arKI
attention in areas of Y¢Jtrshlre, North Llncolnshire and Lincolnshlre, in particular by
provldlng and maintsinlng rescue homes and other facllities ttE reception, care,
treatment and rehoming of such animals."
In shaping our objectives for the folIc*￿INj year arKI planning our actlvities, the Trustees
have c(￿SIdered the Charty Commisslon's gUIdan￿ cm publlc benefrt and this Is regularty re-
visited.
The charity provides help in the local communlty to those people needing to re-home their
cats, taking in stray cats handed in to the vets or roaming in the local community, and for
th0￿ looklng to adopt a cat. We also Nn a trap, neuter, retum sckRme for feral cats located
In the area.

As a solely volunteer-kd d￿lity, we are delighted to rekx)rt that during the t￿rI(MI from April
2023 to December 2023, we reh)med 66 cats. Mary (xme from sad arCumStan￿ such as
bereavements, evictions, (ymws moving and abandoning trEir cats, illness of ownerslowners
going into long-tem care, sodal ServI￿S cases, and strays handed into the vets. We are
indebted to all our volunteers for their hard V*Y)rk in ensuring the cats and kittens receive the
best PC6sible care when they are with us, arKI the many donations of focAd, blankets, toys,
and litter.
April 2023 to DeC￿ber 2023 has seen our finan￿ stabilise with a lot of our malnstream
fundralsing streams proving successful. These include pen sponsorships, donation t#)xes In
local shops, tskeavrdys and pubs, theme nbghts, bingo nights (no monetary prizes), local
summer shows, car b￿t sale5, Community Champions at the Coop, coffee moming at
the local Churth, and the sale of calendats.
We c(xrtinue to W ￿lL￿ked, due to cats wth health issues r)eedlng to be wlth us for longer
perlods of time, until their health issues a￿ resolved. This means that we cannot take in new
cats untll these longer tem cases have reh￿Tred. We had three long term health ca*s
and we also had a number of kthns that needed to te hand-reared.
We re￿1ve supwt from Pet Plan and The Wtion Mission.
Even though our overheads have increased due to the Cost of Living and vets bills we have
felt it has not been necessary to Increase any rf our adoption cos
The Charity is still a member of the AKH and continues to cMtribute and adhere to thelr
standards. We were honoured to be invited to Colla￿rate wth Cats Protection at the ALKH
Conferen￿, delivering a workshop on home fostering.
We currently have two home fosterers, In addikn to the main cath. unfO￿natelY one of
our fosterers had to withdraw the scheme dLE to illness. We are hoping to exparKI our
home fostering and have advert￿ for expressions of interesL
We work within the local communty to control and manage the feTal cat populatlon. We
trap, neuter and return (fNR) feral cats to site wherever possible. Every cat in the colimy 15
neutered. Preparatory wod( is carried out to estimate the s￿e of the colony and assess the
logistical issues for the individual sttuation. LcThJ-temi m(mitoring of a colony ￿ n￿SSary to
keep the Txjpulation under contrd, ty trapping new arrivals. If feral kittens are found and are
young enough, they are soaalised and re-hOff￿ as domestic pets. This year, we have
W0￿ed with kKal prisons, frdrms, small holdiThJs and irKlustrial estates. In this tirne period we
have ts3ppEd, neutered and 58 feral cats.

We applied for Gift Aid on tEcomiThJ a tharity arKI w￿e sUcc￿Ul. This has increasejj our
income. As a charlty, we have also IEcome memb05 of Pets at Home VIP dub.
We saved money to ￿place some the flooring In the cat pens. The fltx>r vlas uneven
whith a potential safeguarding i￿ue. This has now been rectified and is now ful￿ safe
and is also easier to clean to ensure hygiene is of the highest starmlarts.
The d)arity is committed to maintsining and t￿Ilding ￿lati(Y)ShipS vrith our l(Kal veterlnary
practtces. The high levels of expertise and care pthided by vets help us ensure a h￿h
level of cat welfare standards and enhan￿ our k)cal reputation as an ethical cat rescue. We
also liaise regularly wlth other cat rescue charitles, and we gjpport one another to provide
the highest standards rf ca￿.

Axholme Cat Rescue has Income tslow £250,0(M) and has therefore elected to prepare the
finanaal statements on a Receipts and Payments basis in line wlth the CharitEs Act 2011.
The Trustees a￿ responsible k￿pIng woper accounting records that dlsc105e with
reasonable accuraq at any time the finanaal pos[tic￿ of the charity. They are also
responsib￿ for safeguarding the assets of the d￿rity and hen￿ tsklng reaSona￿e steps for
the prevention and detection of fraud and crther I￿egular1tieS.

I report on the accounts of Axholme Cat Rescue for the period endlng l December 2023,
which are set out on pages 10 to 12.
Respectlve responslbilities of Trustees and examiner
The charltys trustees a￿ responsible for the p￿paratIOn of the accounts. The charlty's
trUSt￿S consider that an audit is not required for this period under section 144 of the
Charlties Act 2011 (the Chaiitles Act) and that an Independent ey3mlnation Is needed.

to follow the procedures laid down in the general Direth'ons glven by the Charfty
